This is the place to go if you just want to swim and not fight currents! There are orange buoys marking the Iron man course. Swim here safely for hours.

Get your paddle board and go. There are dolphins and Manta's waiting to be seen. Great place to start your journey and you can go aways out and see so much.

The cruise ship anchored off shore. We took a tender from the cruise ship to the Kona Pier. There are several hotels, restaurants and stores within walking distance up hill. Target and Walmart provides separate shuttles to their location for free. The Target shuttle goes to a large shopping center with many stores in the area. There is a Starbucks... More

The resort of Kona stretches far south from the Kona Pier, but if you want to go on an excursion, rent a paddleboard, or take a dip in protected waters, you'll end up at the Kona Pier. Since this is the leeward side of the Big Island, the water is almost always calm and crystal clear. Plus, right there in... More

This small pier has people swimming near it in the mornings and fishing off of it in the evenings. We watched several people, including a woman, fishing off the pier with long bamboo cane fishing poles. On one side of the pier has downtown Kona and the other side has the Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha Beach Hotel. Near the... More

It's a pier, if you don't know what that is you have no business being on one. Fishing at night is good, small little place to swim with the kids on calm days and night. And all water activities involving a boat start from here.
