Spectacular Kilauea volcanoes tour

Our volcanoes your with tour guide Derek was very memorable. The tour spanned approximately 13 hours and covered pretty much the perimeter of the Big Island. Our group was small, consisting of 11 people, including my wife and I. The van was very comfortable, and our tour guide Derek was superior. Derek offered commentary throughout the tour via overhead speakers in the van. His Nuggets of island history and scenic wonders was very enlightening. A bond was formed amongst the tour members, with the help of Derek. From the Kona coffee farm, to the Punalu'u bakery, to the black sand beach, the Kilauea volcano caldera, lunch and dinner, and a stargazing spectacular, Derek managed the entire tour with unmatched expertise. My wife and I would recommend this tour to anyone, and if we were to return to the Big Island, we would recommend the Wasabi volcanoes tour, and especially Derek as the tour guide of record.

Outstanding experience!

We went on a Big Island circle island tour led by the incomparable Dreu Basaldua! From the start of the tour, Dreu proved exceptionally knowledgeable and highly entertaining! We saw so many amazing sites during our all day tour. Coffee farms, waterfalls, black sand beaches, active volcanoes, lava tubes and so much more! In between stops, we were enthralled by Dreu’s retelling of legends of the Gods and tales of modern changes to the people, flora and fauna of Hawaii. The group was small and the coach was very comfortable. Dreu’s love and reverence for the history and traditions of the islands came through with every story he told and stop we made: he made us feel it too. A 12 hour tour seemed daunting when we signed up but when it ended — we were so sad it was over. If we ever come back to Hawaii, we would absolutely take another Wasabi tour with Dreu.

Fantastic island tour!

In preparation for our first visit to the Big Island, my wife and I talked with friends of ours who had been there many times and developed a list of things to see. To our surprise, Wasabi Tours’ “Big Island Grand Circle Island Tour” covered everything on our list. Even better, the tour guide assigned to our tour was one of the best tour guides we have ever seen in our experience of taking vacation tours all over the world. Stephan was very people oriented, enthusiastic, and extremely knowledgeable of every salient aspect of the sites we visited. He covered the historical and even the scientific facts of each site filling the 12 hour day with experiences we will always remember. We highly recommend this tour.

If you're looking for an unforgettable tour experience in Hawaii, look no further than Dreu with Wasabi Tours! From start to finish, Dreu kept us engaged, entertained, and laughing with his incredible sense of humor and creative surprises.

Not only was he deeply knowledgeable about the island’s history, culture, and landscapes, but he also made every moment exciting with his unexpected van "redecorations" and quirky outfit changes. Just when we thought we had seen it all, he’d throw in another hilarious twist that kept us on our toes!

Beyond the fun, Dreu was incredibly respectful, ensuring that everyone felt comfortable and included throughout the journey. His passion for sharing the beauty of Hawaii was evident, and he went above and beyond to make our tour both educational and wildly entertaining.

If you're considering a tour with Wasabi Tours, do yourself a favor and request Dreu—you won’t regret it! It was hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had on the islands.

The Perfect Day!

Derek was our tour guide for the day and he was fantastic! He shared an abundance of information about each stop and the island as we were traveling between stops. He made sure to give us enough time to look around, but kept us on a schedule that enabled us to see everything that we could. He even went out of his way to offer to take pictures of our group at a few different stops. He made our trip interesting and fun!! WE highly recommend Wasabi Tours!

Miexia Ahloy from Wasabi Tours Hawaii did such an EXCELLENT job as our tour guide! We spent the entire day touring the most beautiful sites on the Big Island of Hawaii while he also continuously taught us so much about Hawaiian history and culture!!!! A fantastic orator and tour guide with a dash of humor! Thank you Miexia for such an awesome all-day tour!!!

The Big Island Grand Circle Island Tour with Stefan was FANTASTIC!!! Stefan made the tour made the tour 10 stars! We will able to see all the sites plus stop at a bakery, enjoy scenic routes, and more! Stefan was so knowledgeable and friendly. It was the best way to spend the day seeing all of the Big Island! Thank you!!

Grand Circle = Grand Time!

This tour was definitely the highlight of our trip to the Big Island. Having visited Oahu on three occasions and Maui once, Kona and the Big Island was definitely a different vibe. The entire experience was a trip back in time to the late 70s. Most restaurants and shopping areas were lackluster at best. Every shop contained the exact same “made in China” trinkets. All that said, we made wonderful memories and we did very much enjoy our tour day and especially our time with our guide, Mia. Mia went the extra mile to accommodate and enhance our adventure. Wasabi is truly fortunate to have her. Would we visit the Big Island again? Perhaps not. If we did, would we strive to book something with Mia? Absolutely.

Waterfalls and a knowledgeable guide

My wife and I took the relatively new Big Island Waterfalls adventure. The guide, Stefan, was extremely knowledgeable. We saw some great waterfalls and visited the botanical garden. We stopped at Tex’s diner for mouthwatering malasasdas (Portuguese style donuts). There are plenty of snacks and bathroom breaks. The trip is in a Mercedes van, which has no power - bring a power brick because many areas are outside cell coverage is spotty. The final stop is at a privately owned waterfall. If the weather permits you can go swimming. Highly recommend.

Big Island Circle Tour is the way to go!

This was our 2nd time in Hawaii (the first time was to Oahu), so I wanted to ensure we did something memorable. I surprised my mom with a Mother's Day trip to the Big Island. I booked a private Big Island Grand Circle tour for just the two of us. This tour was the highlight of our entire trip!

Our guide, Derek, was phenomenal! He is very kind and funny and possesses an incredible wealth of information about the island. It was amazing to be able to ask questions and view the island at our own pace.

Derek made our trip an incredibly memorable experience. I cannot thank him enough, and I highly recommend Wasabi Tours and Derek as your guide. Mahalo!
