There is only one vendor that we visit and that is the koa wood carver. Each year that we visit the Island we definitely stop by his area. His carvings are exquisite and pretty reasonably priced. We talked to him and his wife and both are friendly informative and very pleasant. They will package and ship your purchase if it can not be taken on the plane. Both times our packages arrived home in a timely manner and undamaged.

The day we went all of the areas weren't occupied, but we were able to find a few treasures. To include handmade jewelry, t-shirts and bags.

Not as many stalls filled this year (hence the avg. instead of very good rating), but some of the favorites are still there. You can find a variety of locally made and crafted items including jewelry, paintings, photos, bowls, serving pieces, food items, lotions, etc., as well as tshirts (red dirt, lava, and other washes too!), sundresses, Hawaiian shirts and wraps, hats, etc. Some beautiful pieces here!

I've come back to this market visit after visit to find either unique items or better than retail prices. I've gotten Red Dirt shirts here, sarongs, jewelry, coconut and cinnamin bowls, salad servers. They have lava dyed and other dyed shirts, hawaiian soaps, toys and trinkets, and foods also.

In an industrial park near downtown Kona you will find the Kona International Market. It has some unique shops that feature locally produced products and value pricing.

They include: "Goodies from Hawaii" which is owned by Alson and Margy Nakamura, where they feature handmade cooler wear, heat pillows, noni soap, and other Island made articles.

"Treasure Island" Gallery of the Exotic, owned by Zan Myers, with helper Suzanne Murdock, who feature the works of 40 local Artists, and 23 local companies.

"Freedom of Expression" owned by Kim Peeples, who makes amazing handmade local "magnetic" jewelry, as well as doodle bug fun coloring books for the "mature" colorer

A food court with valued priced food including, Mexican, Asian, Korean, Filipino, Tropical Smoothies, and a local Island Barbeque.

Worth a visit if you are visiting the downtown Kona Resort Area. They also have free entertainment and music including free Hula lessons every Wednesday starting at about 3:30 pm, free music with Ukulele Lehulehu every Friday at 10 a.m. , followed by free Ukulele lessons at 11 a.m. (check their website for days and schedule).

To be clear we try to find the best value for our retired dollar and this place is it! Happy Hour starts at 2 until 6. From 4 to 5 they have 3$ margaritas and they are delicious. Happy hour wine is 7$. The food is outstanding. We have had Calamari, spicy tuna tempura, lettuce wraps and spicy tuna sushi. All were really delicious. They don’t skimp on the portions and it’s top notch quality. We are in love with this place. The service is great and friendly. Been there twice already and another time for sure. We have checked out 4 other happy hours and this is number 1

Nothing in there is reasonably priced. I understand that you are at a top notch resort but prices are ridiculous. Not a huge assortment of items.

This place is almost empty. I tgink there were 3 shops. One was an antique/ tbruft shop. The other two were over cluttered with the same touristy stuff.
I had jyst eaten lunch so I did not walk past the "food court". There were so few people there thst I would be afraid to eat there.
There was a cruise ship in poet today too. There was a sign saying ladt cruise ship shuttle at 3:30. I would have beeb mad had I been dropoed off there for more than 10 minutes.
Too bad they can't get a farmers & artisans market going here. It's not on Ali'i so it would have easier access.

This is bit off the beaten path so you'll probably need a car to get here.

It's essentially an open air market with a roof. There are a number of places all selling very similar "Hawaiian" souvenirs similar to what you'd find at the ABC Stores. BUT there are several booths all selling art and jewelry by local artists. As well as a booth with wood items- some of which the artist carves outside while you're watching.

There are clean bathrooms and a small food court.

I think it's worth the trip but you won't need more than about an hour there.

We’ve shopped here for years and was looking forward to shopping some more. However, this place is out of business. Disappointed their website isn’t updated nor is their voicemail message. We drove an hour and it was closed.
