From Justin’s incredible dad jokes to Golden Boy’s (AKA Kaleo) little animal calls I found myself cracking up the whole time. The staff made it the best trip I’ve been on by far. On top of that we saw a double rainbow, rode alongside dolphins and then got a visit from a few majestic manta rays. These manta rays were doing nonstop barrel rolls right under us and even came so close I was looking right into their eyes... so cool! Enjoyed some cookies, fruit, & hot chocolate on the ride back :) Thanks again to Justin & Golden Boy, you two are the best!! P.S. I made a Trip Advisor account just to write this review so if my words aren’t convincing enough please trust me on this one!

I've been on several whale watching excursions (Hawaii, So. Cal, Mexico) and Kamanu was perhaps the best whale watching experience I've ever had. I opted for the Elua Zodiac - very intimate tour with a maximum of 10 people on board. What I loved about this experience was not having to jockey for a chance to see from the side of the boat (unlike the bigger boats where you find your self shuffling from port to starboard constantly). The boat is very zippy, we could get to locations quite fast, cut the engine, and quietly observe. It was almost surreal watching a mom and baby whale truly frolick in the water ( we watched for nearly 30 minutes!) At one point we were all looking for the duo to surface, only to hear them on the other side of the boat, less than 20 feet from us (I think they wanted to check us out as well!) The crew was very gracious, answered any questions, but let us quietly observe when the whales appeared......and there were MANY - I lost count during out 2.5 hour trip. To me this is the best way to get up close, not having to worry about getting good view, every seat is optimal!,and just enjoy the adventure. Insider tip: Book EARLY - there are only 10 seats - also, pricing is very reasonable (by Hawaii standards) about the same as the bigger boats, but you get a MUCH better, more relaxed experience with the Kamanu crew

My friend and I took this ride on Feb. 13. Captain Daniel(?) And Tanya were great, as was the rest of the crew. We did see MANTAS and it was wonderful. Tanya handled a few issues (pukers and a slip)with authority and calm. Highly recommend this group

Manta Ray Night Snorkel was AMAZING! We saw 21 different sightings of Manta’s. We had a blast and Captain Justin, Jeanette & crew were Fabulous! I know it was luck on that day but they are pros! The complementary hot cocoa, cookies & fruit was a nice touch and the $4. MaiTai’s are worth it! Don’t forget to tip your crew, they are the Best!
