We had a great time with Sophie and Alyssa (sp?) snorkeling! We called on short notice and they were happy to fit us in. I really like that Kona Ocean Adventures starts a little earlier than most other tours so you get out to the reef before others and have more clear and less crowded tours. They take small group tours, so also less people than other tours as well. The boat was awesome! Alyssa provided us with great history and stories during the tour, she is very knowledgeable! Sophie was in the water with us the whole time and pointed out things to see - eels, octopus, etc. She is an amazing free diver! They are both very attentive to maintaining the health of the coral reef and the safety of the participants. The lunch they provided was delicious. One of the best I've had on similar tours. I highly recommend this tour! We went solely off of TripAdvisor recommendations and would absolutely do it again! We wanted to do the night Manta ray adventure, but ran out of time. Highly recommend the tour and Sophie and Alyssa!! They were amazing!

We were met with very friendly and knowledgeable crew. But we came to see Manta Rays and they delivered! Out of all the groups in the water we were on top of the rays the whole time. As 10 to 15 Ray's swam up to us and below I looked around and we were the only group on top of them. Kona Ocean Adventures keeps the groups small and adjiale to give you the best experience. We are already planning another trip with them.

This place was absolutely fantastic. I went out on two diving trips with them. The crew was wonderful and I really appreciate all of the help, advice and conversation from Sean, Sophie, Alexis, Hana and Aaron. It's nice to be on a boat with only a few other people. There is a lot more freedom in dive sites and and much less of a crowd than if you go with a large company. Thank you guys again and I hope to be back soon.

Aloha Kelly, Thank you so much for the kind review! The manta ray snorkel off of the Kona coast is definitely a must do bucket list activity and our crew is nothing short of the best! Along with manta ray snorkeling, we also offer day time snorkeling trip to sites such as the historic Captain Cook's Monument. It is sure to be fun for the whole family. We visited Kona area in mid April, and booked 2 excursions with KOA: the nighttime manta ray tour (scuba and snorkelers) and the Kay Bay/Capt Cook snorkel adventure. We were a group of 9, with 5 teenagers so we booked private boats both times and had the same amazing crew for both trips: Justin & Jessie and then Sean too, for our scuba dives. We can't say enough about how great these crew members are! So friendly, happy, and delighted to share the island with us! We learned so much about the history and culture as well as had a wonderful adventure for both trips! The nighttime manta ray snorkel (and scuba if certified) are not to be missed! It's an incredible, beautiful interaction that you will never forget. Getting out in the morning for the Kay Bay ride was nice too but not as dramatic as we had hoped due to the regulations on not interacting with the dolphins anymore. But our crew did everything they could to make our morning awesome, including stopping on the way back at a lava rock cliff jump so a few teens could partake in a local experience! There is a reason that Kona Ocean Adventures is the top rated crew/boat on the Big Island: they are skilled, thoughtful, and just genuinely lovely people! Thank you for taking care of our Ohana's!
