Hawaii Geo Tours was created to offer our guests a comprehensive adventure tour in Volcanoes National Park. We offer hotel pick-ups from Kona to Waikoloa. We are a company of only two geologists that came together to create a fun and relaxing tour experience. Along with David, our Big Island guide of almost ten years, we strive to show a different angle of the Big Island!

The whole experience was incredible! Zane worked out a perfect route choosing some lesser known spots and timing the visits to the popular spots nicely. He is a wealth of scientific, historic, and geological information. Dining on fresh malasadas and enjoying a delicious restaurant lunch were bonuses. Perfect is the only way to describe this day! Thank you Zane!!!

Such a fun day! We have gone to the volcano on our own before but doing a guided tour was so much better. We got to see and experience things that we never did, or would have, on our own. From stopping at a black sand beach and getting to see nearly a dozen sea turtles, driving through the park and the crater, to the amazing lava cliffs. We experienced so many breathtakingly beautiful vantage points that provided some of our favorite pictures. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable and it’s obvious he is passionate about his job. The trip to the volcano is a long drive so it was nice to be able to sit back and enjoy the ride, company, views, and a nice picnic lunch. And the fact that ALL the kids in our group (5 teenagers) had a great time speaks volumes! We’ll be doing this tour again for sure. Thanks for the great day, Zane!

One of our best days ever! Our tour was led by Eric, co-founder and co-owner of the company, and an actual geologist who was able to tell us anything we ever wanted to know about volcanoes and more! In addition to his knowledge of the area's geology, he enjoyed sharing the history and culture of the Big Island. I think this ended up being a 12-hour tour, and worth every second! We made many stops along the way for sightseeing, food and beverage. The highlight was seeing the lava pool at Kilauea after sundown! Thanks Eric, Zane and Eddie for a fabulous day!

Zane made sure the entire tour was informative and interactive; Never felt I was travelling by myself!! we visited beautiful sites. We could see the lava flow with binoculars, and Zane went the extra mile to send us the videos of the lava flow he took. Bonus is the lunch at a restaurant overlooking the volcano!

Highly recommend this tour. Zane does the best he can do to keep you as dry as possible with the best sites. He also does his best to keep you safe. You are viewing mother nature and a frequently wet area. He knows what to do and when.

Zane's tours are one of a kind. We did a family trip with HGT, and were able to tailor it for our tastes and timeline. Zane has a wealth of knowledge about the Big Island, geology, volcanoes, the ocean, and so much more. His vans are clean and comfortable, and have huge windows where you can really sit back and take in the spectacular sights of the Big Island. He showed us some "locals" spots along the way, and from our five year old on up to us old "geezers" we all had a blast. Five stars very much recommended! We'll do it again!

Hawai’i ( Big Island ) is a geological wonderland……so why not have a Geologist as your tour guide? Erik was absolutely fantastic and we learned so much fabulous information and history. He took us off the beaten track to show us points of interest that no tour book even mentions. Besides the Kona coffee stop and the delicious pre-arranged lunch, we learned a tremendous amount of information about the history of these incredible volcanoes. We circled much of this huge island in the 11 hours we spent with him and I would do it all over again tomorrow if I could! Do Not Miss This Experience.!

Amazing day. Booked a private tour for when our cruise ship was in port at Hilo! Truly worth it! We toured all throughout volcano national park. Had an amazing lunch with views at Volcano House. Hubby got to talk geology with a geologist … PRICELESS!
Yes what we did was a bit pricier since we did as a provide excursion but Eric customized things to match what we could do…

We had one of our best days on the island doing this tour! 2 families with kids from 9-16, Erik was awesome! We learned a ton, had some great adventures and had so much fun. We would never have been able to plan all of what we saw and experienced on our own. Erik definitely knows all the great spots, what to see and do. We got amazing pictures too! I can’t say enough other than book this tour- you will love it! We all felt like we knew so much more about the island after the day with Erik. Many thanks to him for such an awesome day.

We were on the big island of Hawaii. I loved that this company was so accommodating. Eric picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel making life so much easier. He treated us to a hot restaurant meal. He showed us things that none of the other tour guides shared. It was a truly great experience. They have some bookings left for September. Get your reservations in quickly as you don't want to miss them.
