Get “Hooked Up” fishing in Kona Hawaii. Hooked Up is a first class and affordable Kona deep-sea fishing charter business with the experience to catch you a fish of a life time. We have great reviews and a proven catch record and you can see this in our tournament results and Kona fishing report blog. Hooked Up is a very large, clean and comfortable 40′ Uniflite that is owned and operated by Captain Chuck Wigzell and family.

Whether you want some fish for dinner or a trophy blue marlin we will customize your Kona fishing charter trip to meet your needs and expectations. We fish for blue marlin, stripe marlin, spearfish, mahi mahi, ono and tuna year round off the Big Island of Hawaii. If your just looking for action or just want to catch some fish for fun we offer light tackle tuna fishing around the FAD’s or ledges when available. This is what truly differentiates us from the rest of the Kona fishing charter boat competition, we don’t mind mixing it up to get you some action. Whether its trolling or live baiting, we will work hard and try different techniques to catch you fish.

Hooked Up also specializes in taking kids fishing, and we’re happy to customize your fishing charter trip for the whole family. Hooked Up has a variety of different tackle and equipment to make fishing for the kids easy and fun. With large side rails around the cockpit area and plentiful shade, this boat is safe and comfortable for families big and small.

At the end of the day, we’ll fillet the fish you catch for no charge, and you can have it cooked at our family owned restaurant in downtown Kona, Pancho and Lefty’s, or take it back to your condo to grill yourself. It doesn’t get any better than that.

The boat is very large, clean and comfortable. All the rods and reels we use are in great shape and can catch you a fish of a life time. The boat has plenty of seating up stairs with the captain or has two full size couches in the open cabin, plus a nice clean bathroom. The boat is truly the largest and most comfortable and productive in its price range.

The captain and crew are always polite and courteous to the customers. They try to engage in conversation and answer all your questions through out the day and try to get you involved as much as possible.

If you plan to go fishing in Kona, be sure to charter with Hooked Up Sportfishing. I found the captain and crew remarkably pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. There's both an art and a science in finding the fish, and they are masters of both. Also, the boat and all the equipment is state of the art and very, very clean.

We recently visited Kona, Hawaii with our family. I had contacted Hooked up sports fishing as well as other charters prior to our arrival. I did not commit to anyone because we were unsure of our plans. Because we were island hopping we were only going to be in the area for 2 1/2 days. Plus the teenagers were unsure... More

I chartered a half day of fishing with Captain Chuck and First Mate Shawn on the "Hooked Up" October 29th. I had contacted a few other charter companies at the marina, but was most impressed with Captain Chuck's enthusiasm and willingness to change up gear and techniques to get my party the most action. He was also willing to leave... More

On 10/29/16 my friend and I chartered a 1/2 day trip with Captain Chuck. I have commercial fished for 25 years out of Gloucester Massachusetts and Caught Hundreds of Blue fin Tuna. I have also gone on many Charter fishing trips. They turned us on to the fish Big Time!! Hooked up on a 150 lb. Blue Marlin and caught... More

Been fishing quite a few times in Kona on various boats. But Hooked Up has always been lucky! Plus I happened to pick a day that there was a tournament going out, and Captain Chuck wasn't able to be my guide. But he worked hard to find me a crew that was awesome. Captain Rick and mate Carry made us... More

Our second time on the big island, our first previous fishing experience was not what we thought it would be so on our return 12 months later with some research came across "Hooked Up Sportsfishing" with Capt. Chuck. A truly delightful experience over two days was had by myself and my son. Captain Chuck and his crew Shaun and brother... More

Capt. Chuck squeezed my family of 6 on for an afternoon half day. As we got on the boat, he offloaded 2 huge yellowfin tuna. The boat is clean and comfortable. The captain & mates are helpful and informative. The kids had a good time, even though we only caught one ono (Wahoo), which was promptly cleaned and bagged when... More

If you are looking to go deep water fishing, look no further than Capt Chuck's boat and his crew mate Sean! We caught 3 big Ono fish, which they cleaned and filleted for us right on the spot. They both are extremely knowledgable and fun! Our 2 brothers had been deep sea fishing before and both raved this boat and... More

I chartered Hooked up Sport fishing after researching many of the charters in Kona. One of the main reasons I chose them is because they let you keep part of your catch and if you take the fresh fish to their restaurant they will cook it up for you. The captain and the deck hand were very friendly, informative and... More

The captain and his first hand were knowledgeable and safe. They were welcoming and great to chat with. Made for a fun group outing on the ocean! FYI-Bananas are bad luck on boats :)
