The beach areas itself is not huge but if not overly crowded makes a good little stop. Our kids played for hours in the surf although the waves at times can kick you butt depending on how rough it is.

This is the beach you'll want to visit when staying in Kona. You'll find there are only a few sandy areas where you can get in the water around Kona and this is the best one. There are some nice small waves that are perfect for those wanting to boogie board for the first time. Great for kids. Not a... More

Great beach to go play in the waves and boogie board at. If you are lucky you might see some turtles. We went every couple days. There is great snorkelling North and south of the beach. Definitely a must do.

We wanted to find out why locals liked about this beach, it was small but nice. Sand was soft, a little rocky, big waves, with lots of people on their boards. Kids had fun!

Within 15 minutes of being there my husbands backpack we were sitting 10ft in front of watching the kids was stolen. After, we were informed that there has been a rash of robberies at this beach. This is something tourists need to me made aware of. Be aware of all your belongings at all times!

Very small beach compared to what I had imagined. But there is plenty of shade! The sand is soft but steer clear of rocks. The water was a bit too rough for little ones. Good place for boogie boarding! There is a small parking lot, bathrooms, and a lifeguard on duty!

Super place to bring your boogie board! Has shade too if you want to be out of the sun. Get there early to get a spot though. Has rest rooms.

Have been going here almost dialy this summer. The water is clear and warm and there are nice waves for body surfing and boogie boarding. Stay to the south end of the beach to avoid the rocks in the center. They hurt when you land on them! The lifeguards are very attentive and warn you of hazards. There is some... More

We stayed next door to this beach. It has white sand, and a lifeguard on duty. It does have some serious rough waves at times, and is crowded. There are also a lot of lava rocks sticking out of the sand you have to be careful of. But all in all its a great little beach. You will see some... More

My family and I were staying in the South Kona area, and wanted to find a beach closer to our base than the large, celebrated beaches of the Kohala coast. So we decided to go early to the "Magic Sands" beach (also known as White Sands or La 'aloe Beach Park). Even though we arrived at 9AM, the parking lot... More
