We have been here several times, lastly in 2013. Easily reached by bus from Kona there is a lovely beach shaded by tall trees and a beautiful safe depth swimming area. Lots of species of fish and a couple of giant turtles, don't touch them!. There are good restaurant s within yards. ulswimming area with safe depths.

We always make a visit or two or more to this beach park when we visit Hawaii almost yearly. We love it, my wife can fish ,I can find a shaded picnic table to sketch. We can beach comb, swim, or just relax.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have seen. It is a long hot drive through barren lava fields, but very worth it. It was cool and breezy in the shade. There were turtles swimming about. There were very few other people.

Close to Kona airport and a very bumpy mile drive from highway to beach. Trip is worth it. Two great beaches that are usually empty of people. There are picnic benches and restrooms on site. Bring your own chairs and food because there are no other facilities. Almost always sunny in this beach. Added bonus my son got to watch... More

This is a lovely beach, we had a great afternoon here. Clean beach, nice sand, clear turquoise waters, gorgeous waters but the water is a bit rough. High waves, just be aware especially with kids. The road to this beach is long and rough but it really is worth it when you get there. This is a perfect place to enjoy... More

This is a nice park but the drive down the bum unimproved road deters us most years. Takes 30-40 min to go 1.5 mi. So plan on spending the day. There are compost bathrooms, some nice picnic table and some shade

Gorgeous park, clean with picnic tables and beautiful blue water. You can hunt for shells or just relax on the beach and watch the children play in the soft waves.

It is so well kept and not as busy as I thought. Waves were quite high and could be scary for people who are not used to them.

We took in this park thinking it would be interesting. The visiting center was lacking. Swimming is hard to get to.
