White Sand Beach is very popular because in this particular area it is full of sand instead of rocks. That means no stumbling and bumbling about trying to get into and out of the water, which is most appreciated by old duffers like me. Plus it's a short drive from a whole bunch of condos full of kids who want to hit the beach. It's probably better for boogie boarding, but there are some rocky areas that border the beach that have pretty decent snorkeling. Nice place to visit. The big negative is the lack of parking. Be prepared to pull over along the road somewhere but watch those No Parking signs carefully. Lots of car and foot traffic congestion around this area as a result, so watch yourself pulling in and out.…

Don’t expect too much as this is quite a small but busy beach. I think it must be a popular spot for the locals with the white sand, although this sand and beach disappears at high tide I was told. Lovely for a day out though as setting is beautiful.

Definitely one of our favorite Kona area beaches. Swimming is great here and boogie boarding when the surf is not too much. There is some shade, volleyball, restrooms and showers. A few picnic tables too. A beautiful soft sandy beach.

This beach can change by the day. We went several times and the waves were strong and powerful with undertow. One other day, very calm and super clear blue water. There is a sandy, soft beach but can get crowded but worth the trip. There is a free parking lot across the street and some parking on the side of the road. There is a life guard and showers. We did see the life guards in action due to an adult male hitting stones with his body when he rode a wave. An ambulance was needed for him, so be careful with the waves. Some walking area in the sand but small beach close to Kona. …
