Beautiful fishing village. Nice harbor with terraces. Maybe you'll get lucky and an excursion boat just arrived in port. The staff of the ice cream shop on the quay then give away an entire show. Truly hilarious to watch. Don't forget to walk into the village (via the stairs, you actually see from the harbor) Upstairs via small alleys via square to the church, which can be visited. Ample (paid) parking within walking distance of the port.

We visited here on our trip from Vrsar to Pazin, stopping first at the Panorama where local honey is sold. Much of the 10 km fjord can be appreciated with its beautiful long view of sea water and trees in a gorge. We drove 3 km further to the small port with 2 small restaurants, 2 tour boats and Tony's Oyster Shack. One of their working barges just returned and we watched the crew readying their shellfish for transport.
This area is all natural and not on the tourist trail.

Extremely beautiful interesting place of Istrian peninsula. Lim Fjord is a wonderful place for excursions to enthusiasts of intact nature. Water in the Gulf is clean and rich in fresh water sources, and therefore suitable for the development of plant and animal life. It is also known as a fish farm and breeding of shellfish (oysters, mussels, horns, brancines ...). All these delicacies can be tried in two restaurants on the shore of the bay. For the "free climbing" fans on the north side, there is a suitable rock, whereby every day the fans of this extreme sport are climbing every day. Nearby is also a cave that is open for visit. I recommend to visit.

If you want to sail to Rovinj and the Lim fjordchannel, watch out for the pirate ship- and take another! The owner is a lier and not trustworthy. There are lots of alternatives that are really good

We visited the Lim Channel by car, which was on the road between Vrsar and Rovinj. A small detour that is very much worth it as the scenery is great and there was also a small beach to enjoy!

Beautiful sites with lots of greenery view of the islands. Highly recommend that you rent a boat or do a boat tour. Must have license to rent a personal boat but it is really cheaper.

We decided to take a boat trip on the Lim Canal after visiting one day as we were
passing by. We got chatting to the man who runs the company that does boat trips along Lim Canal - an hour round trip - and he was so nice and so genuine that we decided the give it a go. My husband and I and our two children (age 11 yrs and 9 yrs) climbed aboard the boat from the Lim Canal jetty, not sure what to expect. We had the most wonderful experience throughout the entire 1 hour journey. The boat was lovely, the scenery was beautiful - not stunning, but very very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed how peaceful and relaxing the entire boat trip was from start to finish. We were not looking for a trip involving commentary over a loud speaker or anything too commercial. This was a perfect trip for us and we would highly recommend to others. Also, as New Zealanders who know Milford Sound well - please do not compare Lim Canal to Milford Sound. They cannot be compared as they are entirely different experiences. Go and enjoy the Lim Canal for what it is and the peace and tranquility it provides. One of the best tourism experiences we had in Istria. Well priced also.

Limski kanal or Lim Fiord/Lim Bay is one of the top places in Istria.
In 1958 year on this location was made movie "Viking" with Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis, and in 1968 "Long Boats" also for Viking movie...The Lim Bay was presented as a fiord, this is why it is sometimes called Lim Fjord.
Significant landscape, specific marine reserve...It is a sunken karst valley, 10 km length, 600 m average width and canyon sides up to 150 m height, great informations thanks to the Kanfanar Tourist Board.

Very pleasantly surprised to find such a peaceful place so close to our villa. Well worth a visit to this beautiful spot on the banks of the Limski canal. Take the boat trip down the fjord, it's about an hour on the river, very tranquil and the tour guide was very informative. Get there early though as there were lots of coaches arriving later in the day. Well worth taking your swimming gear as you can swim in the river near the jetty. There is a small beach area with a cordoned off swimming area. There are two restaurants, we had drinks at both, and would recommend either. Looked like a great place for a meal.
