About
The company ''Aura proizvodi'' is dedicated to the production of exclusive traditional products such as brandies and jams and other autochthonous products made of wild herbs and wild fruits picked in a clean environment at the slopes of the mountain Ćićarija, far away from roads and inhabited places. From the initial production for our own needs, we have developed into a family-owned company that primarily focuses on the quality of its products. The products need to be of the same quality as the homemade products our grandmothers produced - without preservatives and artificial ingredients. We produce and offer many interesting delicacies: jams made of nettles, mint, dandelions, sage, elderflower, figs, plums and cornel. We also produce brandies ageing up to three years - they macerate for six months, and are then distilled. After that, the distillate is returned to the macerate, which is decanted up to six times in the following two and a half years in order to naturally loose lees, thus creating a final product ready for the market. In addition to the traditional Biska, Medica and Teranino we produce brandies made of sage, mint, cornel, carob, olives and almonds, wild pears, wild apples, rose petals, rosehip, forest fruits and herb brandy. We are the only ones on the market that produce the Biska extra, made of white mistletoe picked exclusively from apple trees. Our products can be found in better wine shops across Croatia, delicatessen shops, renowned hotels and high-class restaurants. We also have four shops - in Hum, the smallest city in the world, in Vrbnik on the island of Krk, in the national park Krka and in Buzet where our headquarters is. The products ''AurA'' are recognised by the market as top-quality brands in which a lot of work and immense amounts of love for each product were invested. Our slogan embodies everything we previously mentioned: 'PICKED BY HAND, PREPARED WITH LOVE'. Your health is our delight.

We had come across the aura shop in motovun and it would have been so easy to buy the teranino there but I had a suspicion that a trip to the distillery would be really worthwhile and interesting and I was right😍.

The building housing the distillery also houses a large tasting room and shop and both have been carefully created to provide a relaxed drinking experience. The seated area has dimly lit lights and interesting artefacts and creates a warm rustic feel. there was no pressure to buy and a soon we we entered we were offered their signature drink the teranino a red wine liquer similar to a mulled wine but not as sweet and even more tasty😍

There is a tasting bar and the staff are keen for you to try any of their products. We were also given an informative tour of the distillery.

We also tasted their gin and several of their fruit brandies and the orangecello their latest line😍. We were served a platter of local cheese meats and olives with bread which helped to soak up the alcohol 😁

We really enjoyed our time at the aura distillery the staff went out of their way to ensure we tasted as much as we wanted and there was no pressure to buy. The quality of the products speak for themselves it is just a matter of your taste 😍

Amazing hospitality, very welcoming - dropped by on recommendation without high expectations but ended up having the best experience out of two days roaming Istria. Strongly recommend to taste (ALL) their liquors and spirits AND jams - truly locally authentic, together with local prosciutto cheese olives. Very nicely arranged ambient, with sunbeds in the garden in case you need to relax a bit afterwards :) and really engaged "shopkeeper" who took us into the cellar and explained all about the production process and gave us to taste samples of macerated fruits. Definitely recommend.

Exterior was amazing and that's when we knew it was wonderful from the start. The interior was also very nice and you just can't believe your eyes. The staff was extremely polite and from the very first second you enter. We managed to try out most of the products they offer and everything was very nice and tasty. Would highly recommend both visiting the distillery and buying their products. Big shout out to the owners who are really dedicated to providing the best service and products possible.

We heard this from friend so decided to dropp by. Spacious, very well designed and decorated space - separate space and divided rooms for productions of teranino, gin, differents brandies, fruits marmelades....The staff are very helpful, so you can taste most of the products for free and hear a story about the production and history of company. Everything was very fine, classy and tasteful. It is not cheap but it is worth of that.

We ended up in the Aura Distillery after visiting a local Hum shop where they sell its products. The place is a shop and small production site where you can walk around and taste their products. We saw the final stages of gin production and the packaging of bottles before being shipped. The smell in the production area is marvellous and reminded us of Christmas time with hints of glühwein and spicy gingerbread.
We were offered a plate with cheese, ham, olives, olive oil and bread to taste. Since we had bought at the shop in Hum their Karbun Navy Strength Gin – made out of 21 ingredients - I was wondering which tonic would go best with the gin and asked for the house style recipe. The lady at the bar was happy to tell us and instantly made us a complete gin&tonic which tasted truly wonderful. I have tasted a lot of different gins and have quite a collection of bottles at home, but this particular gin&tonic is definitely one of the best, if not the best I have ever tasted. Perhaps the surroundings, the experience and vacation atmosphere are defining factors in this. I instantly bought a couple of the tonics to take home and hope to be able to copy the taste.
The lady at the bar also made us two other gins and tonic of their collection. We were spoiled to say the least.
Finally Martina showed us and the other tourists around and told us about their history and business.
We spent quite some time in this place and enjoyed every moment of it. Martina and her friendly colleagues gave us an experience to remember. Thank you Aura-team!

Had a wonderful visit with tour of the distillery and complementary tasting. One can sample all of their 20 brandies or variety of house gin. Very nice ambient. Except from drinks, you are also complemented with a plate of Istrian cheese, olives and prosciutto. You do not feel pressured to buy anything and you can spend really nice time there. Recommend to go there by public transport or have a designated driver. :)

A great place that welcomes the guest with a glass of wine and invites you to taste wonderful specials such as jams, chocolates. Nevertheless, what captivated me here is the description of the production process, which makes you want to gain knowledge on this subject even more. Beautiful decor, perfect for wine tasting . I insist you visit this place, you will be pleasantly surprised. 😃

Truly lovely place, feels like an old time pharmacy.
Has a herb garden with descriptions.
The stuff gave us an interesting tour of the distillery, truely unique place.
The gin and piska are amazing, taste them all.
Can buy a flask with your favorite liquor that you can take on the plane (100ml) very clever on the part of the distillery.

We visited distillery on women's day and met an extraordinary woman Ksenija. She really knows her job. She was very professional, kind and served us with care. The ambience was very romantic, candle light on shelves, all decorations carefully thought out. The drinks tasted heaven from first one to last. My favourites are dried fig brandy, rose hip brandy and cornelian cherry. Also, you want to try the jam! Trust me. We will definitely visit this distillery again! Thank you for everything, we appreciate it! ❤😊🥇

If you are near Buzet in Istra (Croatia), whether you like or not like alcohol drinks, Aura Distillery is worth visiting. Friendly stuff will show you and explain the production. Besides unlimited free tasting of about 20 different drinks (many of which are their original and awarded product), in their tastefully arranged and cozy space they will treat you with delicious local cold plate (prosciutto, bread, olive oil, cheese and olives).
Everyone will find it's favourite drink(s), mine are TERANINO and GIN KARBUN.
