While researching Joshua Tree I came upon a mention of this place. It was a Saturday so I was in luck as they had a star evening that evening. The volunteers set up 6 telescopes and you went from station to station viewing what they had found. They also showed me how to sue my binoculars to locate a few... More

I was camping in Joshua Tree National Park and came out here around dusk for one of their events. The people were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, shared their very expensive astronomy equipment with you and told all sorts of great stories. For those who may worry about this being a cosmological debate society - the folks here were not political,... More

I stopped in for an hour to use the outdoor observatory ring for a Sky event. This area is on a dirt driad to the left, just before the 29 palms Joshua Tree entrance - it is easy to miss. You go dow the dirt road and follow in your car to an outdoor ring, park, and turn all lights... More

Hello Deborah, Thank you for your review about our observatory. I'm not sure what outdoor observatory ring you are mentioning? The ring in our parking lot is our driveway. At the center of it is our orrery - a scale representation of our solar system. At the center is our sun, surrounded by the four terrestrial planets - Mercury, Venus,... More

We were lucky to be visiting Joshua Tree when the observatory was holding one of its stargazing event. It was a lot of fun. Not easy to see the signs for the observatory, when it's pitch black outside, so you can easily miss it. We entered it into our GPS so we had an idea of where it would be... More

Hi Marina! Thank you so much for your pleasant review of our facility. All of us volunteers are glad you enjoyed our telescopes that were set up for our event. Thank you for letting us know about our sign. We are in the process of building a new sign, that you probably didn't notice because it was too dark. Right... More

We went to the Sky's the Limit Observatory on our way to Joshua Tree National Park We visited during the daylight hours. During the day there is scenic desert views. At night they do astronomy programs. Its a smaller observatory. Its an ideal place to see the stars on a clear night.

We walked around the grounds and had a tour by a volunteer who was there. Fun place with sculptures and scale depiction of the solar system. We found out they had a star party event the night before and were so bummed we didn't know about it. Next time we'll know better!

We visit here every time we go to Joshua Tree National Park. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable and will kindly answer any question you might have about stars or how to find them. We always look forward to visiting here and observe Saturn in the telescope. It's really an amazing place for star gazing!

The observatory was very close to the entrance of Joshua Tree national park. The place is very dark and has awesome views of the sky to look at the stars. When we went, there were telescopes out to look at the Mona and planets. I would definitely come here again.
