This nature park covers a large area along the rivers of Beli and Cherni Lom which merge into the river of Rusenski Lom. It is like a mountain under the plain because while you drive you see flat land as far as your eyes can behold, and suddenly, when you approach any of those rivers, high rocks and lush vegetation emerge from nowhere.
There are several must-see sites you have to visit if you happen to be around Ruse, having some kind of your own transport is recommended - the Rock-hewn Churches of Ivanovo, the rock monastery of Basarbovo, the medieval town/fortress of Cherven, "Orlova Chuka" cave, lots of rock churches and monasteries in the rock rims along the rivers, etc.
Plenty of hiking treks and eco-paths are there as well which do not require any special preparations or specific level of fitness. They are well marked and do not require a guide. They usually start either from the nearby villages, you can find direction signs before you enter the villages or at their central squares, or from the touristic sites mentioned above.
If you prefer the serenity of the countryside, you can stay in one of the many guest-houses and small family hotels in most of the villages.

This is one of the most unique places I ever been. It begins with an old monastery built in a rock. The monk cells are indded in the mouintain but they are peinted and all. After it the rode continues along the Lom water in a land with hills and trees. After a while you.ll find the canyon and the delta of Lom, a unique place abundand of specific flora and fauna. I found there hudge shells.
