It is worth seeing. I wish I could have a boat tour on the Danube. The local residents love the river. For them it is a source of fishing and water for agriculture. I heard some atories of people who had died while fishing or...More

This is the river that becomes the border between Bulgaria and Romania. It's a good peaceful river. You can also see amazing sand arts. There's nothing spectacular nor exciting. Recommended for slow travelers who have much time.

Lots of history with dwellings and upgrade city travel. Great Museum and shops easy access to. stayed at SEVEN GENERATIONS WINERY AND HOTEL where food and drink was superb and scenery in wine fields with picturesque view of Danube River.

You can walk by the Danube in Ruse. The views from the city are not that impressive. At night it is very dark and no lights. Also, there are no established restaurants along the way creating a flow of people, so its quite empty.

We travelled as close to the Danube as possible, from Ruse to Svishtov, where we crossed on the TIR ferry before driving through Romania to cross the Danube back into Bulgaria on Freedom Bridge. Wide, fast flowing, big barges, cruise ships. Fascinating.

The Danube at Ruse is a working port. It is very wide. It has a dirty look to it as I guess there is so much river traffic it is getting polluted.

Newmarket Holidays cancelled our Danube river cruise with less than 24hrs before we boarded flight to Munich to sail on Olympia on Danube. Granted act of god meant low river levels caused initial cancellation because ship could not navigate from Rhine into Danube. We were...More

We’ve sailed along the Danube and it is an incredible river giving life to many communities, lots of life to see as you sail or walk/cycle along.

Our part of the river in area of Ruse is well maintained. Unfortunately the climate is so hot in the summer and so cold in the winter. Visit it in either in the spring or in the autumn.

Search in booking Bb apartments. The location is perfect - near to the river and city centre. There are few museums and good place to eat. You can get a boat trip from ruse to other Danube cities
