A must-see when at Traunsee/ Salzkammeegut-region. A bit of a hidden treasure, since they built the tunnel and all through- traffic is passing fast without a stop in Traunkirchen-Ort (old village). It.s a great and more quiet alternative to St Wolfgang ( Wolfgangsee) or Hallstadt...More

Amazing location overlooking the lake. Large church in offering service in Traunkirchen. One of the most beautiful churches we have seen in Austria. As usual small cemetery on the grounds, overlooking lake. Immaculately kept.

The view of Traunsee lake from here is exquisite. We were here in January 2016 so a late review. Having a day sitting on the lakefront with our picnic was one of the most delightful things we did on our three month rail trip through...More

this tranquil town, next to a beautiful lake, is renowned for this lovely church. Note the different colors of people on the fisherman's pulpit. It is said that monk's built the pulpit.

An excellent church, very peaceful in a small village with just a couple of shops. It was hot whilst we were there, and the views of the lake from the church were excellent.

Perched high above a glacial lake, Pfarrkirche boasts a marvelous view. Carefully tended graves fill the grounds with beautiful flowers, planted rather than placed in urns or vases. I saw my first Edelweiss growing here. The interior of the church is lovely and known for...More

Beautiful church with a solemn atmosphere and an impressive altar, definitely worth a visit. It looks even more picturesque from the lake, so if you have a chance to have a ride in the boat, it is well worth it.
