What a beautiful church! The cemetary in the grounds of the church is also so beautifully lighted in the evening. Attended mass in Christmas Day.

A beautifully ornate church inside. The. Church seems to be open every day to visitors. Mass on Sunday was lovely and it was wonderful to see many of the congregation in traditional Tyrol dress. The grave yard is tended so well and at night each grave is illuminated by candles. A beautiful church in a stunning setting.

Despite being such a prominent landmark in Alpbach village, it always surprises us how few people ever venture inside the church grounds let alone the church itself.
Find out how this little valley in Austria is closely linked to England - for nearly 1,000 years!
Exploring the cemetery will also provide some surprises for most. Alpbach has had a certain magic about it for centuries and has drawn many from all over the world - including Nobel prize winners.
Well worth spending some quiet time having a respectful look around.

Christmas carol service on Christmas Day was wonderful and well supported. Exterior is well maintained and set right in the centre of this small town.

Make sure you look inside the beautiful village church. Roman Catholic services are held on Saturday evenings when all the graves in the churchyard are lit by candles. It's magical.

If you are in Alpbach then do not miss the opportunity to go in the churchyard. Immaculately kept and a showplace of the village life.

Well worth a visit to this gorgeous church in Alpbach. The grave yard is well cared for and residents of the village take turns lighting the candles on each grave every evening. The interior of the church is beautiful. Whether you go to the church or pray or just to admire the beautiful art work inside, I would highly recommend you visit this gem in Alpbach.

St Oswald was a king in Northumbria and would no doubt be surprised to find a church named after him in the Austria Alps. The nave is a beautiful, cool quiet place to sit, think and reflect. The churchyard is amazingly well maintained and the grave of Nobel prize winning physicist Schrödinger can be found along the north wall.
