The Roman Catholic parish chuch of St, Margaretha rises up above central Kaprun.
The charming building with its pointed tower is over 100 years old and was recently renovated.
Worth a visit, both accessable by foot (steep road as well as steps) and by car.
Entrance is free, although a small donation will always be appreciated.

The church is illuminated at night and commands a very prominent position in the lovely village of Kaprun. Inside is beautiful and it has been very well looked after. Well worth a visit.

Lots of steps to climb but very pretty inside & well kept. Small church at top of many steps. When we opened the door it was so pretty inside with lovely stain glass windows.

We decided to visit the church before our leaving on Sunday morning. The view from the church is wonderful, we really enjoyed this short tour.

This little church is perched on a hill and is visible as a landmark from all around Kaprun. It’s position draw you to explore it and we did on a very hot day. It is immaculately kept in the Austrian style. As you enter it there is evidence of its WW2 heritage which as history lovers we found very interesting. The surrrounding graveyards are like most you see in Austria, beautifully kept with lots of flowers and red granite stones.
A very serene spot with commanding views. Well worth a visit.

This is well worth the climb because it is a beautiful little church with wonderful views of the mountains, and an interesting churchyard.

Looks big from a distance but inside the church is quite small. Nice paintings and a painted "stations of the cross". Lots of nice carved wood and a choir/organ loft a the rear of the church over the entrance, where ther is a memorial o local men who died or went missing during WW2

Beautiful old Tyrolean church short distance from the grocery store at the end of Schlosstrasse street. Attended 10:00 am mass on Sunday January 25. Service was in German and I was able to follow along & attempt to sing (in German) from the song book. "Stairmaster" means LOTS of steps from the street up to the Kurche (Church). Good start for my ski vacation with Sunday Mass.
