Charming Parish Church.
Aug 2020
The Roman Catholic parish chuch of St, Margaretha rises up above central Kaprun.
The charming building with its pointed tower is over 100 years old and was recently renovated.
Worth a visit, both accessable by foot (steep road as well as steps) and by car.
Entrance is free, although a small donation will always be appreciated.

Go brave the steps, (there's also a very steep path to access on the other side) take in the views and look at how the locals take care of their dead Beautiful inside.....light a candle or two for loved ones.

Sunday morning
Sep 2018
On our first morning in Kaprun we decided to climb the one hundred plus steps up to the church. The view from the top was wonderful over the village and beyond. We didn’t enter the church as a service had just finished and still had worshippers inside. The graveyard contained beautiful headstones and flowers, lovingly looked after. Certainly worth the climb.

The church is illuminated at night and commands a very prominent position in the lovely village of Kaprun. Inside is beautiful and it has been very well looked after. Well worth a visit.

Lovely little church
Jul 2018 • Couples
This little church is perched on a hill and is visible as a landmark from all around Kaprun. It’s position draw you to explore it and we did on a very hot day. It is immaculately kept in the Austrian style. As you enter it there is evidence of its WW2 heritage which as history lovers we found very interesting. The surrrounding graveyards are like most you see in Austria, beautifully kept with lots of flowers and red granite stones.
A very serene spot with commanding views. Well worth a visit.

Great view of Kaprun, worth a visit!
Jan 2017 • Couples
If you are in Kaprun, especialy in Winter time you should visit this church. It is very close to the village center, next to Maiskogel ski resort, and has an excellent view of Kaprun and Kitzsteinhorn.
