Total rip off, they nickel and dime you for everything. Things which you would expect to be included in a spa (towels etc) are extra.
Sauna is extra everything is extra, and it's completely overpriced. They take a relaxing experience and turn it into something you regret doing

For its given price I consider it very average. Besides, I was disappointed by the staff. Some were nice but some were very unpleasant. I would like to highlight one situation in a restaurant. We probably did not meet a dress code (we only suppose so, because all writings were in german and none in english) and therefore we were immediately treated by a man there in a very rude way. The man literally started shouting at us in german without any will to explain why and expelled us from the room. Surprisingly, there were many people dressed like us enjoying their meal. There was no polite answer for my questions even though I stayed calm. I don’t think that anyone, especially in facility focused on wellness and wellbeing, should shout at a guest. For a price more than 60 Euro per ticket, this is sad.

This is more like an ordinary public swimming pools. No enter to saunas and the most relaxing pools. For 90 euros for 2+1 you get some warm pools, no saunas, no view, crowed, and nothing special. Focus on children, toys and diapers (really digusting). We had expected more like a spa due to the marketing of the place.

Architecture and design details are nice and the whole place tries to gives itself an exclusive air. However, the reality is quite different. When we arrived around 11am it was already pretty full and they closed the bath shortly afterwards because of overcrowding. It still took us a long time to find 1(!) unoccupied lounger to put our things (for a family of four).

The whole atmosphere reminded me of a public swimming pool rather than an exclusive spa - lots of noise, few places to relax. Several parts of the facility, like the much advertised rooftop pools, are only accessible to hotel guests. Other parts require paying extra - on top of the already substantial entrance fee (almost 100 Euro for a family).

The weirdest moment was when we tried to enter the buffet-style restaurant inside the bath. Apparently you are not allowed to enter it just wearing swimsuits and a towel, proper attire is required. Which is unusual for a food bar inside a bath - but ok. Problem was, this rule is just posted at the bottom of a very small sign at the entrance and many people weren't aware of it.

So it was a bit funny to see the cashier time and again climbing out of his booth and running after patrons to reprimand them about their attire and send them out of the restaurant. People weren't too happy about it, either.

I pointed out to him that this rule was a bit unusual and also impractical because people had to go back all the way to their lockers, get changed and then come back again. He told me that it didn't matter to him in the least (not in an unfriendly way, but using the rather colorful German expletive "Scheissegal"). This whole scene didn't feel so "premium" at all.

To sum it up: If you like crowded swimming pools and watch people get yelled at, pay a visit. If not: Use your money for something better than the Tauern Spa.

Dear matfuchs11, thanks for your feedback. It's really sad that we were not able to convince you with our spa water and sauna world with 20000m². It's true, that you have to wear a shirt or a bathrobe in the restaurant. We have an open salad buffet and because of the hygiene, this rule exists. We hope, you'll give us another chance to convince you that we'll proove ourselves to do better. Kind regards from Kaprun Your Tauern SPA Team

I will start with the issue, that it's impossible to enter the sauna area if there are too many people. If you need to change something in your order you must go to reception in your towel or rope which is very inconvenient. I had a conversation with 2 collaborators, both of them were not client oriented without any wish to resolve my topic. I especially don't recommend visiting their buffet in the spa zone on the first floor when Emilia Slobodnik their stuff is working there. She is rough, rude and arrogant, doesn't know to say even a few worlds in English or any other language. She didn't help and started to discuss me in a negative way with her colleague. To make a conclusion, the work of Emilia killed a few positives which I felt during my visit. My family and I will never come here again. Thank you Tauern Spa, I recommend to work better with your stuff and it's way of communication and provision of services.

Dear FarAway64877598451, Thank you very much for your feedback. It is a great pity that you could not enjoy your stay as you wished. We will look into the matter immediately. However, we do not know the employee in the house that you mentioned. We hope that you will give us another chance to show you how seriously we take your statements and that we want to continue to work on us. Kind regards from Kaprun Your Tauern SPA Team

We saw this spa from the bus coming in from Zell am See. The spa is overall pretty good with several pools (indoor and outdoor) and a great sauna area. The onpouring ceremonies were the highlight of our stay - flawless. The only little bait and switch thing to consider is that you cannot use the cool-looking roof top pool,
which you can see when entering the spa, unless you are a hotel guest. However, we still enjoyed our visit very much.

We spend a beautiful Monday in December here. We were in the “textile” area as it really wasn’t very busy. Had saunas all to ourselves, the out door salt and jacuzzi pools were pretty empty. We were there 11-4. The only down side...no staff around to direct or ask questions. The snack & bar area was very under staffed...a customer was actually delivering drinks. We both had 1 1/2 hr hot rock massages...my husband clearly had a more experienced person than I did so not sure how you’d get around that...

Nice, clean pool with both indoor and outdoor swimming options in different temperature ranges. Just a little bit too expensive (€26 pp for 3 hrs) for what you get.

Great outdoor pools, good sized area with lots of beds. However, value for money is not high - I feel it is very expensive as a day guest for what is on offer.

Dear Fozzie_81, thank you very much for your visit and feedback. I feel very sorry that we couldn't meet your full expectations. With the entrance fee you get access to a 20.000 m² SPA water- and saunaworld. In this we offer 12 different pools (in- and outdoor) and 10 saunas incl. steambath and textil-area. A restaurant in both areas serve you snacks, meals and cool drinks. A lot of relaxing areas are provided on different levels - always with an amazing view to the surrounded mountainrange. If you could give me detail feedback how we could have impressed you full I would be very thankful. Meanwhile all the best from Kaprun. Cornelia Kugler, BA Executive Secretary

We came here to spend relaxing day at the spa. Spa was very big and there was a lot of people so it wasn’t as relaxing as we would hoped. Outdoor swimming pool was nice with great views to the alps. Please notice that if you want to enjoy sauna, you need to pay 15 euros more, but it was worth the money.

Dear Ennitrn, thank you very much for your feedback and your visit. I am sorry that you couldn't enjoy our 12 pools and 11 saunas because of frequency on your visited day. The SPA water- and saunaworld spreads its offer over 20.000 m² and over 2 different levels. Expecially in high and holiday season we can note a higher numer of guests than on other days. I am sorry that this fact shortnes your experience with us. If you could give us a second chance I would be very pleased. Hopefully see you soon again. All the best from Kaprun.
