The gorge is beautiful and the water running through it very impressive. There are points marked for selfies and some information points on the route. The hiking through the route is not very hard, sometimes slippery.
At the end of the route we continued the hike around the lake.
When we visited it was crowded so much, that selfie points were irrelevant at all.
As we were at another gorges in Austria, this one is definitely not the best. And the great disappointment is at the end of the route to reveal that the waterfall is artificial.
Overall experience is nice, if you weren't in another gorges - go, it worth it.

One of the best canyons we have been in Europe.
It's well equipped with selfie spots and easy to hike.
You have to wear a jacket because it is wet and it may be chilly due to it's depth.
At the end you can walk around a pond wich has a watercolour like in the Caribean.
We enjoyed it very much.

Nice place to visit. You’ll get a small discount (10%) with the Saalbach joker card. There is a info center at the entrance with an informative video on the construction and operation of the hydro power complex.

Be mindful that due to COVID-19, this is only one-way. But you can take a easy walk (or short intense hike via Bürgkogel) back to the parking lots.

We visited the gorge as the start point of our hike up the mountain expecting an exciting and challenging beginning to our day. The gorge is beautiful with some cool waterfalls but we were surprised and slightly disappointed with how quickly we had passed through it (we were through in approx 15 mins). The path through the gorge in entirely on wooden platforms with a number of stepped sections, however no sections are difficult and so the trip is perfect for children and those looking for a less challenging walking experience in a beautiful natural setting. The reservoir at the top of the gorge is well worth a visit and the gorge is a good way to get there.

Pros
- Cool waterfalls and pools
- Easy gradient
- reservoir at top of gorge

Cons
- Being picky, it was little short for us

We wanted an easy trip and this was just perfect! At the end of October there was literally no one else on the track and we loved the views and autumn colours. The wooden path in the canyon takes approx. 20minutes and then we walked around the lake and back. Alltogether 1 hour. Kiosk and restaurant were closed as it was after the season. Parking was for free.

We almost gave this place a miss, having visited gorges previously both in Austria and othe countries. So glad we didn't as it was a fantastic experience. The information centre is very interesting and the everything is very well maintained. The walk is spectacular and we were in awe of the power of nature.

If you are not far away from Kaprun, you may make a short stop by Sigmund-Thun-Klamm. It is really amazing feeling when you are alone in this canyon, seething water is just under your feet and you are hovering between rocks.

So:
+ great nature object
+ comfortable route
+ nice lake at the end with playground, picnic area, fishing and etc.

- short route
- is not worth for special visit more than 50 km away.

We travelled from Zell am See on 660 bus takes about 30 minutes , if you have a Zell card discount on bus and most local attractions are free entry. . We went after it had been raining for a few days, stunning walk up the steps, so need to be good on the use of your legs,. start from the bottom , bus stop near to power house, short walk to entrance, after getting to the top go through the one way gate over bridge over river to top of bank, run right to go back to Kaprun about 20 minutes walk on path, or turn left and follow path past lake. wonderful reflections, out other side walk a short way and you will find bus stops each way. Plenty of seats to sit on and have lunch and a small cafe by the lake if you want to buy food or drink .

We walked to the gorge from our hotel in central Kaprun, which took about 15-20mins. You can get a bus there but there is really no need. There are toilets in the car park before you enter, so good to check with young children before you go in! The gorge was free to enter with the Kaprun card and we all really enjoyed it. Lots of places to take photographs and enjoy the view. The wooden walkways are quite narrow and if you want to take your time be prepared to pull in and let people by (we didn't want to rush through).

A few tips... As you come trough the gate at the finish the path splits at the dam. Take the left path and you will come up on top of the dam wall. There is a great view down the reservoir, and a great place to sit and have a bite to eat. You can either walk around the lake or head back down to the car park via a gravel path.

Once we got to the car park we turned right, up the road a few 100 yards to the cable car and went up the mountain. Gorge in the morning and mountain in the afternoon made a good full day for us.

I was surprized how short it was. Once you enter, it is a one way trail. After a few hundred yards of a great show of water and nature you pass a gate of no return back. The way back is on a different trail.
So the whole trail above the water was too short for me.
But this place is a MUST!
