Kitzsteinhorn ski resort - Pure discrimination, abuse of power and rude attitude by employees. Let me start by saying that I have an Asian face. While riding on Mountains Kitzstainhorn, I encountered discrimination several times - starting with the fact that in a round bar with loud music, located on the place, where Panoramabahn and 3K-connection arrives, I was served last, after the Europeans, although I was standing before them. But the end of the day today was really awful. I was standing not far from the Gletscherjet 2 station (near Alpincenter), and was with my skies and planning to slide down to Gletscherjet 1, and the time was around 16.15 on the clock However, an employee with name Gerald Oppeck stopped me and said that it was no longer possible to slide down. At the same time, several people moved down, and he did not say anything to them. I told him: “you see, everyone is riding, I am experiences skier and I’ll get there in 10 minutes. And this is still within open hours of the ski report”. I was about to move down, but he pushed me back. Moreover, he began to kick my ski latches with his boots so that they turned away, pushed me away and took my skis. I was shocked by his actions. A few minutes later, a family of Europeans with children arrived from Gletscherjet 2 lift (from the bottom station) and they wanted to ski down (the same direction as me). They talked to him in German, and he allowed them to pass. And another family past near him and ski down. I was really shocked. Firstly, it was still the opening time of the slope, and I had every right to go skiing. Secondly, he had no right to push me and take my skis. This is a clear abuse of power, and even a criminal case. At third, a bunch of other people were passing down, but he clearly didn’t say anything to them and just had something towards myself. And for me that was a pure discrimination. Only after I took out my phone and started record him on the camera, he turned away and leave.
Overall, you are paying quite a big amount of money for skiing in Kaprun/ Zell em See, and in fact you are not treated as a guest, and employees could easily let you down. I am very upset and disappointed and will never come to this place anymore.

This is a must for anyone staying in the area. Not keen on cable cars we took the plunge. We are so glad that we did. Going up from Kaprun Centre meant we needed to travel on 4 different cable cars of varing sizes. Quite expensive, but worth every penny. The scenery, especially on the 3K-Konnection was absolutely stunning. We had the best applestrudel at the restaurant at Langweid before continuing to the top. The views at the top have to be seen to be believed. We even saw a Bearded Vulture. The viewing platform, of which there are two, give fantastic views over the glacier and the mountains beyond. A trip not to be missed

My husband and I had a wonderful morning doing the tourist experience up the Kitzsteinhorn. Going in late May, some of the cable cars weren’t open, but you could still get to the “Top of Salzburg” via the Panoramabahn, the Langwiedbahn and the Gipfelbahn. All three are very different - the first being a small (up to 6 people) cable car, the second an up to 4 people chair lift (that feels incredibly safe and comfortable and has the option of a cover) and finally a large (around 50 person) cable car. It took us about 45 mins start to finish, with minimal waiting overall.
On reaching the top, there is quite a lot to do/see. There is a large viewing area on one level, with absolutely incredible views if you are lucky like we were and get a clear day. Think layers of mountains as far as you can see, then down to valleys. Just stunning!
There is a cinema area, which we chose not to visit, and also a restaurant, we which didn’t use either.
Finally, there is a 360m tunnel through the mountain top to a second viewing platform (with jutting out section, this is what you see in the advertising posters etc). This is the side where you can see the Grossglockner, and we did, beautifully clear! The views are possibly even better overall on this side.
The tunnel is a bit steep and we did see quite a few people who were clearly struggling on the way back up from the viewpoint, but we both managed fine (and there are a few small exhibitions to look at on the way back up, which gives you a chance to have a short rest).
We then made our way back down - for me the chair lift portion was even better coming down!
An amazing experience all round and even better if you have a summer card as then it’s all free, including the bus from Zell am See (which runs every 30 mins and takes about 30-40 mins).

Hugely disappointed today with the conditions on the mountain for skiing. Got here fairly late so missed the better conditions in the morning, but in the afternoon it was dreadful. Far too busy, no attempt to try to groom the pistes, so even the “easy” blue runs into the centre were full of moguls and loads of people, which made them far too difficult to ski, -I’m an reasonable skier and found it challenging. Had a problem with my daughter’s ski bindings and none of the staff on the mountain would help. Really disappointing, big queues, I genuinely think the management of the mountain are just trying to get as many people on the mountain as possible and no longer care about the condition of the pistes, no attempt to piste bash at any stage today. I have been here many times, probably won’t come to Kaprun again. Expensive and Really poor

We loved our trip to the top. A variety of gondolas and the 3k gondola even has wifii in it so you can post the amazing views and pictures as you are riding to the top. Parking is free at the bottom and everything is mobility friendly nothing is to far to walk and it is all well connected. We loved this trip and felt the money paid and experience we got was value for $$

Easy parking, but quite expensive with 49€ per person unless you have Zell am See Summercard granting free ticket. You need to take at least 3 different cable cars to get to 3029m ! Several reszaurants on different stages and shops as well. If not queuing it takes cca 50m to get to the top. 300m walk towards the view point in a tunnel where amazing scene to all +3000m mountains including Grossglockner with 3700 plus. Itis cold and really windy up there and 1 cable car is a chair type not fully covered so warm cloathes, jacket required.
Easy activity rather sitting than climbing. You can enjoy some hike is you wish up there but not a must. Takes 3hours easily !
Breathtaking view for sure !

Just spent another excellent week skiing the Kitzsteinhorn, much easier to ger to now from Kaprun Towncentre using the 20 seater K-connection cable car. They had to close the mountain for one day due to high winds but you can still ski the Maiskogel. Masks required at the lift station and on the lifts but not too strict. Highly recommended!

Good ski resort, with plenty of runs available for intermediate skiers. Not very suitable for beginners.

Very few hard runs for good skiers, and small ski areas mean you can also get bored. Worth a few trips to Zell am see

We are here in October which is not officially ski season, but the skiing was great. Everything is open. Strictly enforcing Covid protection rules, which made me feel very safe. Masks must be worn at all times, except for dinning, contact tracing in the restaurants. I came with my dog and he was allowed everywhere. The scenery is breathtaking.
