Arrived early and only had time to do a small section of the walk but we had the lake to ourselves. Calm, crystal clear waters with a footpath that goes all the way round. Def plan to go back to complete it at some point....More
Great 11-kilometer walk/hike around the beautiful lake that offers great views of local homes, mountains, and lake from all angles. Parking can be a bit confusing as no one was present to accept payment, but the parking area was easy to find and there were...More
I was told by the hotel that this is the best and closest place near Salzburg to go swimming; they were right! While driving from Salzburg towards the main village (Fuschl) this is the first “beach” you’ll see on your left. The general entrance is...More
Such a lovely walk. The left side of the lake if you are going up from Fuschl is the prettiest and nearest the lake and also shorter! It makes a nice walk to take the boat back from the Fishery. The whole walk is superb....More
This is walk 30 on the map given to us in the Hotel Seerose. The distance is 11k and the walk takes about 3 hours if you don’t take a stop. There are coffee/lunch stops on the second half of the walk if you are...More
We walked the Fuschlsee circular walk (Rundweg) on a warm, sunny day and it is beautiful walk with the colour of the water changing all the time depending on light conditions. The path is well sign posted, walking shoes are recommended and families using push chairs...More
This is the perfect location if you're into hiking and running. I ran this route twice in different weather conditions and it was beautiful with both. Careful on rainy days, the ground can be slippery.
Really great hiking here. Alright, it’s not the most challenging, but still worthwhile for the views! Made more challenging by the snow, in our case!
Very easy to get to from Salzburg centre - just take the 150 bus from the bus station or Mirabellplatz.
I don’t know how often I already walked around the lake. I’m living about 20 min. away from the lake and I just love it there. Whenever I feel like I need to refill my batteries I come here and take a walk around the...More
What to do in 2 days in Salzburg/ Fuschl Am See on a budget? (7 Replies)
Hi guys, I'm hoping to travel to Salzburg for 2 days at the start of September as part of my European travels. So I arrive in Salzburg Monday afternoon and leave 2 days later Wednesday afternoon. The plan is to climb Untersburg from the base to Berchtesgadener Hochthron (any idea how long this would take?) and probably camp that evening on day 1. The following morning I would like to see some of Salzburg's main sights, before heading to Fuschl Am See. I hope to try the Sommerrodelbahn...More

first of all, you may need to rethink your camping idea as it is not permitted. but there are camp sites around fuschl. the walk around the lake in fuschl takes around 3 hrs and is mainly tracks through trees.
