Lots of switchbacks, and nooks and crannies and places to stop and look over the Black Hills. Drive slow and enjoy it!

This is a fun road to travel but plan to take your time. Lots of twists and turns and beautiful scenery. One of my kids tends to get motion sick on this road so takes meds ahead of time to prevent it.

This drive through the tight tunnels is breath taking with views of Mount Rushmore. Do not try this drive in a large RV! This drive provides spectacular photo ops. the road is full of switchbacks and even a wooden, curving bridge. Make sure you go...More

We had a great weekend at and around Mt. Rushmore. This was a very beautiful drive. It was fun looking for wildlife and the view of Mt. Rushmore through the tunnels were very cool.

Amazing drive. Tunnels through mountains with views of mount Rushmore framed through the tunnels. Hard to beat. Kids and dad's will love the corkscrew switchbacks up the mountain. If you are a biker, this is a rite of passage.

Hwy 16A - what a drive. You go over/under three "pig tail" bridges - where you go over a wooden, curving bridge and then loop around and go under the bridge. Never seen anything like it. And then there are the three "narrow" one way...More

Another must see for travellers, especially those with cameras or phones.....a true feat of engineering genius. Great ride, but best done when conditions are not slippery and distant views are visible.

My wife and I recently entered Custer State Park via this road. It was a rainy and foggy trip up these incredible switchbacks, and single car tunnels. A ride that will keep you on the edge of.....your seats!

The tunnels on this drive are crazy fun. We saw mountain goats way up on a ledge, really beautiful animals

Don't forget Devil's Tower. The area is beautiful, and it would be en route between Iron Mountain Road and the Grand Tetons.
