Be sure to go south to north for best views. Nice scenic drive thru tunnels and one lane roads. Not a destination by itself but definitely worth doing if going to Mt Rushmore or otherwise in the area.

This road is an amazing drive. You go through switch backs, pigtails, separated lanes and some of the most beautiful scenery. This time we actually drove the road at the beginning of a snow storm. It was absolutely beautiful with all the trees covered in...More

We really enjoyed this scenic drive and did it numerous times. South to North is best as you get to view the Presidents through the tunnel. It climbs up high so stop at Norbeck overlook for great views of Mt. Rushmore. The tunnels can get...More

This is one of the more scenic drives in the country. Take your time and enjoy the fantastic scenery. The view of Mt. Rushmore through the tunnels is a great perk.

If you have a passenger vehicle it is certainly a driving experience. Not to be attempted in motor home or towing an RV due to the narrow tunnels. I liked that there are places you can stop and view the scenery. I traveled it in...More

You could try roadpics? Can't remember if that is the one that was there during rally or not but they will have their sites posted so you could check.

Has anyone ever booked the half day tour to Badlands National Park and half day tour to Custer National Park and Iron Mountain Road with ABS Travel Group? I am looking for reviews of this company and the tours they provide but I cannot seem to find any on Tripadvisor.

Where is your lodging? Ideally, you should plan on doing the Wildlife Loop 1st thing in the a.m. or early in the evening for the best wildlife viewing. I don't know how many total touring days you have, but we typically recommend breaking up the scenic drives, particularly if you have kids in tow.
