We camped there for four days in a small trailer. I wish they had a water hook up but it turned out OK. Bathroom/shower house is very nice. Showers were warm and never ran out of warm water. They have a heater in there which...More
I selected this campground as it took reservations and had sites available when I was looking. I am very glad I got this campground! It was a little off the beaten path which meant it was quiet and didn’t have a lot of traffic. The...More
We were out riding around the area and stopped here to do some fishing. The lake has quite a few areas with shore access for fishing. They have toilets and a boat launch. We caught a variety of fish in the short time we were...More
We visited this on a Saturday in the summer. It’s a nice lake. There was a swimming area and boating. We took the hike up a small mountain and down; we never got to see really good views of the lake though; the lake views...More
This lake is beautiful! As all of the lakes are, but this one is really one of my favorites! We stopped and did some photos and just walked around the area. You can hike around the lake, or drive around it. There are bathrooms available...More
That's my opinion, but we have been all over Custer State Park through the years, and we stayed here for the first time in June. I think Blue Bell is the best, but this is a close second. We chose Stockade Lake - South to...More

There are NO lake front campsites at Stockade Lake North campground. In fact, you can't see any of the lake from the campground. If you still want to know which campsites would be closest to lake, I'd say campsites 20E - 32E would be closest to lake (I think that would be the east side of campground). There would be woods and a small road between those campsites and the lake. We did notice that there were some small, narrow paths through the woods that we guessed connected our campground to the lake area. I can't remember for sure where those little paths were, but I'm guessing around campsites 30E & 32E. We meant to explore them, but we ran out of time. We stayed at 38E and liked it, if we were to go back, we'd probably choose 36E. 36E is very remote, off by itself. Whichever campsite you choose, you'll have a great time, there are no bad ones. HAPPY CAMPING!
