Fishing not so hot from shore due to all the milfoil but swimming at the beach area was great. The lake was so clear, we had fun searching for pretty rocks on the bottom! Lots of goose poop so need to wear flip flops or sandals. Other visitors were respectful of each other. Nice area to have a picnic at... More

We were having a family picknick for lunch in the woods around stockade lake. A very nice setting close to the water.

I rode my bike around Stockade Lake at 7:00 AM and it was wonderful. The lake looked like a mirror reflecting the surrounding mountains. There is a campground on the loop road, but I did not encounter one car on the road on the early morning ride.

great for fishing, swimming, and boating. Enjoyed a quiet evening watching the sun slowly set and its reflection over the lake. Very pristine.

This would get a higher rating from me if it had more of a trail around it but that said, it is actually very pretty and if you're into fishing, then it seems like this would be an ideal spot.

This is one of the larger lakes in Custer Park and just a few miles from the town of Custer. There is camping, a swimming beach, fishing dock and boating. It is pretty popular and can get a little crowded at times. There are a number of ducks and geese, Great Blue Herons and I have seen a pair of... More

Beautiful lake surrounded by the pine covered hills. A must stop and budget friendly as its basically free if you have a custer park sticker. There are a lot of lakes here that are not swimmer friendly I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this one on my last visit to the hills this summer.

Our kids participated in the Ranger fishing program offered at the lake. Having never fished before, it was a great learning experience for them and they were super excited to actually catch a fish. Adults can join the action as well provided you purchase a fishing license which were available through the Ranger.

We stopped for a picnic lunch, and there were picnic tables in various areas. Not the best area for a scenic hike. Trails seemed limited. But overall was beautiful scenery and we enjoyed our lunch; just a quick stop in our day.
