Wanted to enjoy a warm late September morning with a 1 mile easy loop walk .... Or so the info said. Climbing over boulders and rocks does not spell easy to senior citizens! Lake is beautiful though! I imagine summertime it's even more fun. Bring a chair and sit awhile enjoying the scenery, and stay on the gravel path. LOL

Have loved this location since I first saw it 35 years ago. Lake is lovely with rocky spires and outcroppings on the perimeter all of which are accessible for hikers. Picturesque place to meditate on nature's beauty.

Sylvan Lake is a hidden treasure that is peaceful and well maintained. You can hike great trails, sit and enjoy the God's amazing work, picnic and even fish (tho I only saw one fisherman). The only downside is the $20 and up cost to enter the park.

This lake is very scenic. I just loved the water and rocks and we made multiple trips to see it in different lights.

I went with a group of friends and after a long day in the car this is exactly what we needed. A nice hike around the lake which is basically flat. Beautiful surroundings. Saw Buffalo on our way to the lake. Good parking. Clean.

Very beautiful scenery. However, you won't get the full view/experience unless you walk "around" the lake. There is a total gorgeous different view around each turn. Expensive gift shop. Clean restroom. Gifts and ice cream for purchase. Lake rentals are also available.

While in the area, do stop by Sylvan Lake. The color is pretty and surrounding area is lovely also. It's very quiet and serene, the perfect spot to just sit for awhile and relax.

Quite a stunning, pristine, Gorgeous lake. After speaking with a Ranger in Custer Park, went toward the "left"- toward the gift shop and "cafe." No entry charge, and a short portion of the walk around the lake is wheelchair accessible. You Do have to maneuver the WC up a shallow curb and then down a rather steep incline from the... More

Sylvan Lake is a picturesque lake surrounded by rock formations and trees. Nice hiking trail around the lake. Fishing and kayaking available. A pretty place to visit.
