Address
Neighborhood: Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.

Not Original
Jan 2021
I have been to Zele a few times. Nothing is made well and my most recent art purchase was sold as an original but it was just a print. I can’t even get a response from management. 10/10 will not go again.

Local Art at Its Best
Jan 2020
This gallery of local art is exactly what you are looking for. There is something for everyone and the prices are very reasonable. We bought some beautiful jewelry and a fun ceramic trivet to remember our trip. We actually arrived just before closing, and the lady welcomed us in and didn't rush us at all - ,

Staff are jerks
Apr 2019 • Couples
My wife was purchasing a post card. The lady rang it up as $20. Wife said, “hold on, if it’s $20 I don’t want it.” Manager comes over like a real tool and says “all sales are final.” Really, jerk?! Turns out the REAL price for a POSTCARD was FIVE dollars, not 20. Was there any apology or any kind of kindness forthcoming? No, there was not.
How about showing some courtesy and some customer service skills?
I recommend folks in New Orleans find other places to shop for gifts.

Local Artists on Display
Dec 2018 • Couples
This was a cool little find while walking down Magazine Street in the Garden District. Small booths of local artists displaying their talents. Artwork, housewares, clothing, souvenirs & more. Some things are priced very well, and some things are a bit more expensive. Prices are not set by the shop itself as most things are sold on consignment.

Great for Local Art!
May 2018 • Solo
Loved this shop, so I stopped in twice during my visit. I wish every city had a store like this. It was like walking through a local, in person, Etsy. Zele is filled with local art. This is definitely a place to visit if you want to bring home something unique and support local artists.
