About
Combining the world’s best live bands with breathtaking art, this multi-day festival offers sensory overload to thousands of attendees every year. Along with a renowned lineup of musicians, the event is famous for dramatic, large-scale art installations that offer an immersive experience. The setting in lush City Park is magical in itself, adding a touch of greenery to the festivities. Make sure to come hungry, because as with other New Orleans’ festivals, you can taste the city’s famous cuisine at several food tents and beer gardens.

Neighborhood: Lakeview
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.

I have now been to Voodoo Festival three times and it is my favorite music festival location. The beautiful park with the great old trees is just fantastic.

Beautiful park and although there were a few problems on Friday regarding this festival, organizers worked out all of the kinks by early Saturday and made for a terrific weekend! This park seemed clean and safe and in an awesome part of New Orleans. Esplanade leading up to the park's entrance is a beautiful street and we walked it 2 or 3 times a day to and from the park/bus stops.

We skipped Friday because it rained all day. We attended Saturday, arriving around 3pm before the crowds. Thankfully we got the lay of the land while still light out, because the mud was more terrible as they day went on and more crowds tramped through the venue. We saw most of what we came to see on Saturday but couldn’t stick it out till the final acts. They needed about 5 or 10 times more length of hard plastic walking surface to safely and comfortably get crowds from one stage to the other. It was great where it was but then just ended. Those in the know had mud boots and a few older folks had folding chairs which would have been priceless! There were lockers where we could have stored blankets or small chairs had we known we could bring them. We also took advantage of the rent/buy cell phone chargers. The porta potties seemed plentiful enough versus a review I read from last year. Overall not fun.

First time at VooDoo Fest and we will definitely be back. Missed the first day but sounds like that was a rain out anyway. Saturday was still wet but nice weather. And Sunday the weather was perfect. There were tons of great food and beer options. And the restrooms were plentiful and clean. Nice layout of stages, with enough space between them that they were not drowning each other out. People watching was like no other place.
We primarily came to see Missio and they put on a great show and we were front row.
Some tips:
1. Bike to the event. They have bike share in NO and there was a bike drop tent setup right at the front gate.
2. Or Uber. They had a great setup for Uber to queue up. We did that the first day and it worked really well.
3. DON'T PARK ON THE STREET :) We did this the last night to get a jump on traffic when we left. Despite no signage and tons of others parking where we did, we ended up towed. As did a lot of others we met who were equally confused why they couldn't find their cars. The violation when we got our car said "Special Event parking restriction 12 pm - 12 am". So unless you know for sure where you can park (without counting on signage) don't do it.

Went to the Voodoo Experience festival. The space was ample to accommodate a major crowd. We were quite comfortable and had such a great time that we've already purchased our tix for next year!
