I was pleased to hear the St Roch had reopened as I would take out of town guest to experience one of my favorite cocktail "Werewolf". We would then get some of the food choices & share making for an enjoyable outing. When we visited the past Sunday the bartender said with an attitude'"what do you want?". I asked if she still made the "werewolf" cocktail and her response was "What"? I repeated and she sneered " I don't know what you are talking about" and turned away. Needless to say it dampened our spirits by her attitude so we walked around the market without ordering anything.
I probably will not return as we live on the other side of the city and it was an enjoyable destination. There are many other good bar venues in New Orleans most of which are more than happy you chose to spend time and money with them!

We made a trek out here based on some of my obsessive pre-trip research — my husband makes fun of me for this ;) but it turned out great!

There’s a fantastic variety here especially if you have a lot of people in your group with different tastes. They seemed to also have a great variety of vegetarian and vegan options.

We first grabbed an Americano at the coffee roasters— because caffeine! My husband and I are self admitted coffee snobs and we approve! Great flavor and it hit the spot.

We actually took a loop twice (it’s not a huge place but still has great variety) because everything looked so good. We settled on Chicken and Waffles with cheese grits from Fete Au Fete, which was amazingly tasty!

The only downside thing here is the location, we actually walked from the French Quarter and it was a bit of a hike, we ended up taking an uber back to the hotel. We also discovered there is another food hall right next to our hotel. I am glad we went to try this one though, it was worth it.

Fun food hall in an historic market building. We enjoyed some happy hour oysters and drinks. Both very good. Check out the old photos on the way to the rest rooms.
Could be a fun happening place but unfortunately about half of the stalls were empty or closed.

I was disappointed that there were so few food vendors left here. Apparently COVID has really hurt them. It is a really neat space with some real potential. Our food experiences were good and bad. Seafood gumbo was served barely warm and shrimp were nearly raw. After asking that the gumbo be heated up for us, it came back only slightly warm with barely cooked shrimp (still grey). I might add that I grew up in N.O and cook a really mean gumbo and I'm particular, but anyone should be able to serve the dish hot!
On the other hand, I got a fattoush salad from the man selling Mediterranean food and it was very good and made fresh on the spot.
I really liked the whole idea of the St. Roch Market and hope more vendors come back.

We went to avoid the rain and for brunch. Two sazerac cocktails to warm ourselves too. Lots and lots of choice. We chose seafood so I had a cup of gumbo with a shrimp sandwich while my wife had a blackened shrimp poboy. All very good.

I recommand going there but by Uber. We walked from the french quarter to go there and we were very afraid as we were followed by a pick-up truck. But the market is nice and we loved the food and the ambiance!

Fantastic cocktails in the back on the left - these bartenders take pride in what they put together for you.

As for food, everything from Caribbean, Mediterranean, local seafood, cold pressed juices and smoothies, banh mi, great baked items. You can't possibly go wrong, and there is no chance that someone in the group will be left out. The market hall is clean, well staffed, and very cheerful. My picky eaters always find something they love - try feeding three pre-teen and teen daughters and the parents without any complaints somewhere else...I dare you.

We always enjoy coming here--and always forget about it unless out-of-towners are visiting. Then we try to do a lunch here. The last two times, I've had Vietnamese, the pho once and a bun salad the last. Dining companions had sandwiches, at least one of which involved grilled cheese and roast beef, if I recall correctly. We had oysters and crab cakes. The food is very good. So are the cocktails and wine, if you are so inclined, from the lovely bar towards the rear of the building.

This is a food court in the strictest sense, so you must be in a food court mindset, ready to scurry around, ordering separately from here or there, enjoying the casual vibe, being easy in the Big Easy. That shouldn't be a problem, with so many good choices offered in this architectural gem of a "food court," a stand alone building, once an old fish market, beautifully restored. While the place is always bustling, we've always managed to find seating. Tables are quickly bussed and cleaned.

The market is situated in a neighborhood gentrifying at a slow enough pace that you can still discern the working class roots. But the area is changing, and several restaurants and shops in the area--not to mention the newish Streetcar line--attest to that.

If I lived in this part of town, I'd be here all the time. It strikes me as a great breakfast spot. To tourists, I say, make this one of your stops. You'll experience the diversity of New Orleans culture and food, while relaxing in an example of old, working class New Orleans architecture, without breaking the bank.

Hits: biscuits, coffee, cookies, pb pie, grits, rainbow salad, and fritai. The gumbo was only okay.
Misses: the person selling me the fritai AND the person selling me the rainbow salad we’re both pretty condescending in regard to my requests for heat. The hot sauce at fritai is hot, but not unmanageable. It is also so fresh and delicious that I bought some to take home with me. I requested my rainbow salad 3/3 (their scale,). It would have given it a 1. Please don’t judge a person’s ability to eat spicy foods based on how they look!
Overall, I’d highly recommend a visit. The vibe is nice, the bathrooms are clean and there are plenty of great options for everyone.

If you've got no idea what this place is, imagine a bunch of food trucks, now remove the truck, leave the kitchen, and put them all in one big grandiose room. St. Roch Market.

I'll start this off with the fact that I loved this place from the moment I entered. My only complaint is that I couldn't try every stand in the place. I had to circle twice before I finally settled on a bowl of red beans and rice with a jalapeno cornbread muffin from one stands and basil limeade from another for my drink. I now regret not taking down the anmes of these stands.

My friend purchased a trio sampler from the same stand and a Roger Rabbit to drink from the bar.

For my first meal in NOLA I was blown away. The beans were creamy and delicious and filling and the bread was just the right amount of spicy, the sausage was seasoned perfectly if not a bit difficult to cut/bite into pieces.

I tried my friends lobster poutine which was delicious as well. Where my drink was refreshing, his was definitely strong.

I picked up sweet vanilla cold brew from the second stand on the right the next morning as well which was delicious.

We were staying three blocks from the market so part of me wanted to keep going back, but we had other obligations for food.

It was amazing, delicious, and pretty affordable, with an option for everyone, a great palce to go with friends or big groups.
