Join me in a stroll through the dark streets of one of the United States' most haunted and horrific cities! We'll wander past places where the dead still linger, and you'll learn of their lives and the tragic circumstances of their deaths. You'll be taken into the oldest end of the city, to hear the legends of the Vampires of New Orleans, their folklore and the strange murders and disappearances unsolved to this day! Private tours can be easily done, and with a private tour the number of stops, location of pickup and specific subject matter may all be customized.

Mr. Weiss is an exceptional historian, as well as an entertainer. He has the ability to convey large amounts of information in the short time you are with him, all while keeping his audience engaged and entertained. Mr Weiss is an authentic part of the fabric of New Orleans, having roots here that go back many generations. The other tours that have only been in New Orleans a couple of years can’t compare. I highly recommend Jonathan Weiss tours to anyone looking for a fun an informative time in New Orleans.

We have done many tours. Jonathan is a son of the city who is full of pride and history that he enjoys sharing. Many guides do it as a job, Jonathan does this to "share" his city and knowledge with others. Don't waste your money on anybody else

Any visitor (or local) to New Orleans would love this tour. Jonathan is a charismatic, engaging and humorous tour guide who shares his vast knowledge on the dark history of this beautiful city. I won’t share anything here, you need to do the tour yourself to hear the stories. The city comes alive through his stories, the city with so much tragic history has a treasure trove of dark history . Jonathan‘a deep love for the city is evident, he is local, so no stumbling over stories, he is the first to say 2 hours is not enough to share all that he knows. It starts at 5pm, you get a break in the middle at possibly the oldest bar in New Orleans, Lafitte’s Blacksmith Bar who also sell the best Hurricanes in The French Quarter. I loved that the tour had just over a dozen participants, so no huge tour where it is hard to hear the guide. You do cover some ground, but you stop a lot too. The tour end around 7ish, Jonathan also always asks the participants if they have any questions often, speaking as someone who has done tours with other companies, this does not always happen. The next time I visit New Orleans I would happily do this tour again.

HE IS THE BEST TO EVER DO IT. He's the real deal. Jonathan, the man the myth the legend. He truly made New Orleans lure come to life. He showed us the best spots, as people in the streets stopped to hug and say hi to him. He's truly a man of the people. His story telling was captivating, and he covered all the various topics we were interested in for our bachelorette group (murder, voodoo, ghosts, general history, pirates, etc). He let us specialize our tour and made it one of the best experiences we had our whole trip. It was seriously so fun and so worth it. Don't tour with anyone else!

JWT is an amazing tour guide. There are a few things that really stood out for me. 1) JW is an amazing story teller. You can tell he loves the city and the stories of the people who use to live there. He tells you the story behind the places you are seeing. 2) We were part of a small group (12 people). It was nice to be able to hear JW without the need for a mic’d up tour guide. I would recommend and use JWT again.

My wife, niece, and I experienced 'Ghost Stories by Candlelight: A Guiding Spirits Experience' at Santos Bar. The upstairs bar was the setting, and we kept the drinks flowing while reviewing New Orleans history, and the macabre goings on there. Funny, spooky, and Doug was a great host and presenter, bringing together local tales and his very own stories. Very engaging!

This was my first ghost tour and I definitely recommend! He’s very knowledgeable and funny when it comes to the delivering of the information. He also creates an air of mystery and makes it a comfortable experience. Very different than other tour guides that aren’t from the area & just spat info. He’s the real deal and I believe he’s 4th generation native to Nola and it shows in his storytelling!

We really enjoyed this tour. John was a very knowledgeable, passionate tour guide who sincerely cares about the city of New Orleans. John has a unique perspective on ghosts and history. We are so happy we picked him as our tour guide. Would highly recommend him to others.

Did the VIP vampire tour, and couldn’t have been more pleased. Jonathan is engaging, entertaining, and his sharp wit is hilarious. It’s very cool to go on a tour a feel like you’re with a friend. I was impressed by his love and respect for the city and its history, and his willingness to answer questions and share his vast knowledge. So glad we went! We’ll definitely be doing other tours.

We all know of the New Orleans that people speak of...beignets, Bourbon Street, etc; but this tour allows you to learn what makes New Orleans one of the most fascinating cities. The tour guide, Jonathan is more than a guide, he is a local with knowledge of the city that can be learned, but a love that has been lived. He includes recommendations for food and taverns that off the beaten path. We tried 4 of them and NONE of them disappointed. It was wonderful and is the primary reason we will return to New Orleans so we can learn even more.

The only time listed for a tour 5:00-6:45. I’m wondering will it be getting dark then outside?

It is not necessary for the Dark History Tour to take place after dark. Even in daylight, Jonathan Weiss is able to artfully convey the darker side of New Orleans.

Do we get to go into the cemeteries? We are visiting this month and would love the scariest tour available! There will be four of us.

We've done a couple of his tours, and neither went in to a cemetery. I don't believe any of his tours do. His tours are the most interesting, and most historically accurate that I've been on. You can tour the cemeteries through different tours in the daytime, but they are closed and locked up after dark.
