Went in the morning to Algiers and everywhere closed. No bars or cafes open near the ferry. Even during the day very little to do. A waste of time I am afraid to say.

Whether you decide to see Canal Street by walking or riding the Streetcars you are sure in enjoy the many shops and restaurants. Canal Street is what divides the French Quarter and Business district.

Excellent place to sit and relax by the river. Lots of places to sit and grab a bite or do some shopping. The streetcar is also nearby.

Taking the Algiers ferry across and back gives one an excellent view of the Frence Quarter, Garden District and perhaps an up close and personal look at a large container ship. And the best part, it's free. Great picture taking opportunity.

The Canal St. Ferry ride to Algiers is a wonderful way to spend an hour or 2. Algiers is a lovely community of Victorian and Shotgun houses. While crossing the river we had to slow down to allow a huge cargo ship to pass-very exciting.

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great
story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs
across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied
around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the
