I almost hate to recommend this bar because it is a favorite hidden gem for us. This is the very best place in the French Quarter for cheap stiff drinks and a fun local hang out atmosphere. Please note that this is definitely a gay...More

One of the best bars hidden on Royal street. This is where the drink are poured right and the local folks hang out! Please stop by for the famous bloody marry.

Stopped in to Golden Lantern as we walked to our hotel late on a Sunday night. Good music, friendly bartender (made me the perfect kamikaze), and a few friendly locals. Perfect end for our evening. Will return next visit to catch show & more fun.

Cheap drinks and we specifically went to see a drag show on Friday night. The area where they do Drag is very intimate so make sure you bring dollar bills to tip your entertainters! The show was fabulous and full of delightful numbers. People were...More

The Golden Lantern has been a fixture in our neighborhood since the 1970s. We recommend it for the camaraderie, the entertainment, and the Bloody Marys. Always open!

Came in the morning for Bloody Marys to quench mild hangovers. Good call! Bartender asked how spicy we'd like them, and they seemed to get a little spicier each time (maybe we had a few...). Love the pickled green beans to garnish! The layout of...More

Sorry, never been for St. Pats day, but I would doubt it as there is no sit down food and it is pretty much a local bar.
