The area
Address
Neighborhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Free and worth it

I had no idea about this place! It was raining and cold so spur of the moment we jumped inside to get warm and enjoy the art. It was so exciting to see works from famous artists. No lines and you could get so close to the works of art. Everything from Picasso to Rembrandt! What a fabulous find. Highly suggest checking this place out. Curator was very personable and even came up and asked if we had any questions. I wanted pictures, but I was afraid to do it. Lol

A gallery well worth visiting
Apr 2017 • Couples
My wife and I visited this gallery by chance 3 years ago, we love art and class ourselves as amateur art lovers at best. We were really taken by a Jose Basso painting and while we did not buy it then when we were in San Francisco a week later we visited a sister gallery and our interest only grew. On arrival back in Sydney we had bought the paint which took 4 weeks to arrive and as I write this review the Basso paint is the centre attraction in our living room, we are now a little bit more than amateur collectors.

Stunning gallery
Mar 2017
Had this recommended by a friend and realised we could see it from our hotel bedroom window! Beautiful pieces of art and was pleasantly surprised to see prints of works by Picasso, Toulouse Laureen and Degas. Stunning sculptures.

Beautiful gallery
Jan 2017 • Couples
A very beautiful gallery! Lots of great works here. Sculpture, paintings and other objets de art. Know your prices. :) Or at least have a limit for what you're willing to pay.

Amazing Artwork
Oct 2015 • Couples
My wife and I were walking past, but had to stop after seeing the magnificent artwork in the window. There was a piece that encompassed all that New Orleans has to offer, Mardi Gras, steamboats, musicians and more. I told my wife that the artwork had to be worth at least $2,000 and was only off by $18,000. The other pieces on display were equally impressive and my only regret in stopping at Windsor was that we couldn't afford to take anything home.

Nice collections, helpful staff
Jun 2015 • Couples
We stopped in, drawn by the ~1900 French poster art in the window. The gallery is mid to high end, with nice collections by a variety of artists. The staff was very helpful and friendly, explaining the collection without pressure selling.

Love the Basso's
I have bought two from this gallery over the years. They are beautiful and serene. I recommend a visit just to see them. On a great shopping street in the Quarter.
