This was my first visit to New Orleans and the Smoothie King. It was fairly easy to find parking if you don't mind paying $20 but it was only a short walk from the garage to the security checkpoint. The police were highly visible with even some on bicycle. The venue has the usual event food with some craft type... More

this basketball/concert arena is a bit dwarfted by the huge superdome next to it. the arena is modern and comfortable for watching a basketball game or for seeing and hearing a concert. snack food has a strong local flavor with plenty of options spread throughout. bathrooms can meet the demand for this 18,000 seat venue. easy to get into and... The Smoothie King Center was one of the best places I've ever been to attend a concert. I recently attended a Rihanna concert there and I had a blast . The staff was organized and professional. The inside of the center was nicely temperature, it wasn't too cold or too hot. The seats were nicely separated, I wasn't too close... More

People were very friendly and most helpful in getting us into the arena. We took a taxi, they have a "games" special fee. It was better than parking. Good selection of foods and drinks inside. Knicks lost again, but the event was nice.

The concert was my first time at Smoothie King. The experience was amazing! The staff was friendly and the event was very well organized. Unlike the concerts I've been to at the Mercedes Dome this location was a lot smaller which I loved! The food was nicely priced and was amazing! They had several vendors to choose from as far... We enjoyed watching the basketball game and felt the prices for the game were good but the food was horrible and expensive at the stadium. The chicken strips tasted like grease and the fries were limp.

This was our first time here. There was plenty of parking and only $15.00. It was a short walk and there was ample police/security. The gift shop is large with a great collection of items available. We had popcorn, nachos and gumbo which was all good and not too overpriced. The facility and grounds are nice and clean. The staff... More

My daughter danced at the Pelicans vs Jazz game. This was my first professional basketball game. I was very excited. We were ushered in quickly, found our seating area. They sell beer and food. All the staff was nice and professional. The music and the entertainment from finish to end of the game was truly amazing.

Awesome place, very friendly staff, drinks are expensive like any other place. Floor was wide open and not crowded it was great. Good music and chill venue.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
