The area
Address
Neighborhood: Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.

A fun place

A great place with a nice staff and good music.
Sunpie, Brunious, Afrodisiacs, and others.
One guy tipped the band with an expensive cigar. They enjoyed it between sets, dipping the tip in high quality rum.

so good in so many ways, but not as a cigar bar
Jan 2019 • Friends
we were very pleased we bothered to take an Uber to check this place out, given that it's both a cigar lounge and a live music venue. the act we saw was fantastic (Betty Shirley Band), and it was very fun to get to see a great show while smoking a cigar. really, the only downside is that the cigar selection is terrible (a fairly small wall humidor), and overpriced. i just wish i'd brought by own sticks and ordered a nice drink from the bar.

"Blue Bikes" public bike program in New Orleans
Dec 2017 • Solo
This community bike program just began a week ago, web site if bluebikesnola.com:

One of the kiosks is across from where I work, so I signed up and tried one for a lunchtime ride from the CBD down to Bywater and back. You sign up through the web site and a credit card, they charge you by the minute (13 cents per) or monthly, which is what I did, for a flat $15 monthly you get an hour free riding per day. So that works for my lunchtime rides or errands, not sure it would work for everybody, you can't roll that hour over to the nest day, it's "use, or lose".

The bikes are definitely blue, and will not be confused with a racing bike. 3-speed, steel, heavy, rigid forks, kind of harsh ride on those half of our city streets that are lumpy--meaning most of the Bywater. So not real fast, but "bombproof", and easy to use. I'll try it for a couple of months and see how it goes.

Cool little bar
Sep 2017 • Friends
A neat little bar, an ok range of cigars. Nice prices for drinks, some entertainment. Decent crowd and the bar staff are awesome. Couldn't ask for more.

Great uptown spot

Live jazz, cigars and whisky. Great place with soul and a laid back vibe. This place screams New Orleans from a humble spot on Tchoupitoulas Street. Must see if you're getting off the beaten path of Bourbon Street.

Smoking Live Music
Mar 2017 • Friends
Doesn't look like much from the outside. But get indoors and the big wooden bar, nice display of cigars and little cluster of tables around the stage area, it's really kind of nice. Nice selection of beers, and smoking is allowed. At the end of the bar there's an exit into a sizable outdoor patio area. The music kicks off around 9-9:30pm nightly. They have some quality players. An annoyance to me one evening was the small group of cackling ladies that wouldn't be quiet or move their conversation outside.

Not a quality location
Apr 2017 • Couples
We are in town for the weekend and decided to stop in after dinner. The fiancé frequents cigar bars and was excited to hit one up on our vacation. He used the term 'dive bar' for this location. We walked in very small selection of cigars, and poor service, well I would assume poor because we sat there for 20 min and no one even looked in our direction.

If you are used to a quality experience this is not the place. If you are looking for a place to feel like a man with a cigar you would fit in.

Perfect Neighborhood Bar for Jazz
Mar 2017 • Friends
While in New Orleans, we decided we wanted to avoid the bars on Bourbon Street at night, so we chose this place. We were not disappointed! Sunshine and the Louisiana Sunspots entertained us while we sipped sazeracs and martinis. The waitress was super helpful and very patient in helping us choose a cigar (we were clueless about it and just wanted the experience). You know a bar is really good when you see different age groups represented. People were getting up and dancing. Only complaint I have is that there was virtually no privacy in the restroom. I am looking forward to going back here when I visit New Orleans again.

Hidden Gem of a cigar bar
Feb 2017 • Solo
Great place to smoke a cigar and listen to some live music. The entertainment begins around 9:00-9:30pm every night. A modest selection of cigars and draft beers in a small intimate setting several miles from the French Quarter. Also an outdoor patio if you want to enjoy the outdoors. Given all the smoking restrictions in New Orleans, this is really a great find.
