Local dive bar
Sep 2019
Basic dive bar. Went here for a few drafts and were told they were in a dispute regarding their fowled beer lines. Had to to bottles . ( I can get that at my house) Went early in the afternoon and was near empty . The bartender was friendly and chatted us up a bit. This is not a destination spot but worth a shot if in the vicinity. . Some front porch seating available too .

B E A T But in a good way

A friend and I decided to take a break from the congestion near the quarter / CBD and hopped a street car down St. Charles St. on a muggy overcast Weds. afternoon. Not having breakfast and being severely dehydrated, ahem, we trolled the neighborhood for some honest grub and cheap well drinks. Being loyal patrons of dark, grimy, day-drinking bars, we were quickly drawn into the gravitational pull of Lucky’s. Our first impressions and expectations were not disappointing. The hostess, bartender, waitress, cook / dishwasher immediately served us two substantial pours and mumbled about the burgers being the best thing to order. Taking her advise we waited as she turned on the fryers, heated up the grill, and pulled the laundry bag of bar towels out of the drier and began folding them on the closed ice chest lids behind the bar; (Did I fail to mention that there is a game room & laundry area in the back by the restrooms?)
That being said. The burgers were hand formed, the drinks were stiff, the price was right and no pretense / judgement was encountered.

We stopped in search of a friend of a friend.
We failed to find the friend, but we did tarry at this local bar.
It is a homey place.
The female bartender was terrific.

Stopped for one drink because it was close to our hotel. Bars are a dime a dozen. The bartender had no interest in serving us. I ordered a hurricane - we were in NO - got pretty much a low grade fake juice. I get dive bar, but it's still a bar and service is key

Local bar that is open 24hrs a day. With a laundromat. With food. With low prices. With good local people. Need I say more?

Local Spot

Great locals spot. Nice to have an evening off of Bourbon or Frenchman St. Its a dive bar, with character. Live bands, laundry, pool tables what more can you ask for. We didnt try the food but I am sure its delicious. Make sure to give Kevan the bartender a highfive. He is the shizzle!!!!

So yes, it's a local bar. But guess what? You pay local bar prices!
Visited with friends here for drinks. It was open mic night, no cover and the music was great.
A band passing through took the stage and they were great.

Bartender Kevan (yes, it's with an 'a', get over it) was a blast.

If you're looking for NOLA touristy stuff, don't go.
If you're looking for no judgement, some good times, friendly people, and reasonable drinks, stop in.

Not an attraction to visit more than once
Dec 2016 • Couples
Staff was friendly though distant. Understandable as they are a local joint with little attraction for outside visitors.
We had a beer and ordered poppers as a safe bet for a snack - it was too dark and dimly lit in red to be comfortable with the surroundings.
We do like to try the local places, this just isn't one for us tourists (:

Older neighborhood dice bar.

Just had beer. The grille is just a small grill behind the bar and all they have are hamburgers, fries and not much else. They are under construction in the back part. It's an older well worn local hangout.
