Went with my 6yo niece on Saterday, June 4. Entrance is $4 and it's $4 per ride ticket. Do the math and buy the $22 wristband that includes entrance and unlimited rides. We had a blast on every single ride, especially the Ladybug Roller Coaster! Overall, a great value at $22 per person. The entrance fee also includes access to... More

We were really struggling to find kid friendly things to do on our trip to New Orleans! This was awesome!! My little girl loved it! We would definitely be regulars if we lived closer!

Our young child had a great time at that park. Lots to do for a 4 year old and no line up. In a couple of hours, we could do all the rides and even repeat some. Rides are well maintained, the majority of the staff was quite caring and some rides had obviously just been updated. Buying a bracelet... More

My family loves to go to this amusement park! There are rides and fun here for all ages! We've been attending this park for many years.

I have been going to New Orleans for weekend trips for 10+ years. I never knew Carousel Gardens existed until I finally went to Celebration in the Oaks for Christmas last year. We went on a Saturday and it was not crowded. There were hardly any wait times at any of the rides. The park is very clean, unlimited ride... More

We just finished mini golf across the parking lot and the kids (11 and 14) wanted to ride a few of the rides. (I really think that Storyland is definitely for the younger kids, as you have to go through it to get to the park). Nonetheless, my daughter was a fan of the Musik Express ride and we all... More

I highly recommend you buy the full day pass if you are a tourist. It is good from 10:00-10:00 and my 5.5 yr old loved all the classic rides. I think it may be a bit too young for children over 8 yrs but perfect for the 4-7 year-old range. We had a great time and loved that we could... More

We took about 15 teenage girls on Saturday evening for a couple of hours. They had a blast. The park wasn't crowded, and the girls were able to have a fun time together without getting lost in a crowd. We wished we had gone a little earlier in order to see the sculpture garden, art museum, and ride the train!

The continent's oldest carousel is located here in a small amusement area of the fabulous City Park. Filled with huge live oaks, rides, and of course, the magnificent Carousel! Tour this after you stroll through the Botanical gardens just next door and have a great time

Staying in Lakeview

Neighborhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
