ThX to Hotel Monteleone (NOLA) for permitting gobs of tourists to enter its doors, turn right, and view the moving carousel within it Piano Bar Lounge. It would have been interesting to see the patrons get off their seats after a few "rounds" of drinks!

Ambiance was decent for a hotel lobby a block off of Bourbon street. The 'carousel' bar is a cool attraction. The food, however, was not up to par. The Cobia was so dry, it was hard to chew. The steak, at $45.00, smelled like raw sewage and was consistently over done. The baked oysters were, at least, good.

Stopped I. To escape the heat and humidity to have a bite and some adult refreshments. The Carousel Bar is located inside the Monteleone Hotel. It's crowded and noisy and kitschy and FUN! Had a few nice drinks - try the Louisiana Mary and the Cuban Sammy as well as the seafood gumbo. Both were very good.

While a cool concept, no reason to go over here just to see the bar. If you're having a drink, that might be a different story (I can't confirm, I didn't have a drink).

We stopped by here to see the carousel bar. It really does actually move slowly in a circle, although to be honest everything was spinning by midnight in New Orleans ;) This is a really cool thing to see, but due to its popularity it's hard to get a seat at the actual bar. We enjoyed the jazz band that... More

This is a must see bar in New Orleans if you're trying to keep it classy. I love that the seating around the bar is indeed a carousel and it does spin slowly. Be aware though that the drinks are $12 a piece.

Marvin was our bartender. Very nice. Walked in and got lucky with one seat at the carousel. Nice crowd, good music (not too loud) and good drink. Had black eyed susan....yum. Recommend a break and stop in.

Visiting NOLA we just had to check this place out. It was really cool and the service was on point but it was extremely crowded and loud. There was a jazz band playing across the room (I believe that's technically another bar) but its an open area so it seems like its one room. People watching was fun but talking... More

Other than feeling a tad underdressed as this is attached to a very nice hotel, I loved this place!! There is the actual carousel bar, and then antler bar as the Carlisle bar is usually full. We went to the other and hungout on the side until we got a spot to experience he carousel bar. It moves slowly but... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
