Neighborhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

If you want a Resurrection as soon on tv, here you go!
Jun 2021
We came here after seeing it on Bar Rescue. Most of the bars that Jon Taffer remakes shut down because the owners don't follow his advice so it was nice to see this one still open. We bought a Resurrection drink and Barber Beer. They were both really good but the Resurrection was definitely better.

We didn't get any food while we were there but did get a t-shirt. One thing that was definitely confusing was seeing a Turtle Bay bar at another part of the city serving the Resurrection and Barber Beer. Good drink but weird choice.

Great vibe! Bartenders was very friendly and the food came out quickly! Live music was good but the best part was the flashing Resurrection!

Fun Drinks, Great Music and Service
May 2021 • Friends
Nice little place off of Bourbon Street to rest your feet a bit and enjoy some fun Music, sing along piano music. They also offer fun drinks as well!! Tried their famous Resurrection, which was delicious and came with a souvenir cup! They offer food as well but we had eaten earlier. Will definitely return!

Great live piano player
Apr 2021
The piano player, Kyle Brody, was awesome. You can request almost any song and he can play it. He is really entertaining. It’s fun when the audience joins in on the singing and entertainment.

Worth the visit but bouncer needs some lessons on hospitality
Mar 2021
My first visit to the Big Easy and I'm glad we found our way here. I agree that Jon Taffer needs to come back and teach their "bouncer" a little southern hospitality. While me and a friend were in dining, the rest of our group (10 people) showed up to enjoy the great piano man we had texted them about. They were rudely stopped at the door by the bouncer who announced that you could not come in unless you were going to eat. He didn't give the the opportunity to even come in and try it out. I can assure you 12 adults on a weekend trip would order alot of drinks and eventually food - we did at all the other bars we went to. This didn't happen just once but twice to our group. We saw him turn away others that wanted to come in order the specialty drink - no food, no entrance. I don't know if this is because of COVID restrictions or what but there are nicer ways to talk to potential, money spending customers.
The shrimp po-boy was great and I can highly recommend the Southern Sour, it was delish!! The best asset is Kyle the piano player he is worth the stop.

John Taffer needs to come back!
Feb 2021
We all saw this on bar rescue and were looking forward to visiting. The bar surface was a little dirty and cluttered and the guy "guarding" the entrance wouldn't let us sit in the barber chair and take pictures at first but he relented after making conversation and I'm glad. The skull cups are very cool!!! The Resurrection signature drink is the worst drink any of us had in New Orleans. It tasted like Vicks 44S cough syrup! No one could finish it.

Not What We Were Hoping For
Dec 2020
Saw this place on Bar Rescue and really looked forward to visiting it our first time in New Orleans. Boy, were we disappointed. I will say, it's a bar, so don't expect good food. The drinks were good. Their souvenir glass was very reasonably priced and my sons loved them when we brought them home. However, since Covid their food seems to have gone down to the gutter. They supposedly had the best gumbo on Bourbon Street. We ordered it and were very, very disappointed. When it was first served it was cold (not even room temperature). When it came back to our table (within a minute or so), it was still unappetizingly cold. Neither my husband nor I could eat it. It tasted like dog food smells. It obviously was not freshly made and, I'm guessing, they went back to using bagged pre-made gumbo. We asked if the chef from the rescue show was still there and were told he had left some time ago. Apparently he took all his recipes with him, because the gumbo was the worst I've ever had. We ended up paying for our drinks and leaving hungry. Let's hope they get better after Covid.

I visit as often as I can
Feb 2020
I remember this bar when it was Turtle Bay, I went there once and never returned.
Now that it's been "resurrected" it's my go to everytime I am in New Orleans.
I love their signature drink, the jalapeno ending is the best. Poboys are a bit pricey but the staff and ambience makes it just right..

Stopped in for a drink and appetizer. Staff is very friendly, food was fast and hot, drinks were outstanding. Happy to see Spirits still open after Covid hit the area so hard.

Bar Rescue Must
Aug 2020
If a fan of Bar Rescue - this place is a must! The famous Resurrection cup and drink is $15.00 - personally I didn’t like the drink (sipped daughters), but did like the Barber Beer more so. In the end, this place is pricy! The most frustrating was paying $16.00 for a Fried Shrimp Po’Boy and only getting a sandwich! Paid $12.99 at another place and also got beans & rice AND Jambalaya. But hosts and servers were friendly, welcoming, and funny! Open during COVID, but you are required to take a table and order food. No drinks leave the bar.
