Neighborhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

I guess there are a few locals who like this place but they treated me and my friends horribly. We hadn’t even been drinking yet. Have never felt so unwelcome in a bar in my life. After being ignored for twenty minutes, we left. Wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re a tourist or from out of town. No Southern hospitality.

While not necessarily a tourist attraction this quaint watering hole offers you two things, peace and alcohol.
... and bathrooms, fine... 3 things.
A cash only establishment where the locals gird their loins for a day of dealing with visitors, you can relax, drink and pay rent on that previous drink free from the burdens of "YOU HAVE TO EAT BEGNIETS AT CAFE DU MONDE THIS TRIP OR YOU WILL PERISH IN FIRE."

Very nice cross-section of New Orleans, with both French Quarter locals, locals from other neighborhoods, and tourists. Fun conversation with quite an eclectic mix of people. A bit high on liquor, but bartenders free-pour and shots are easily twice what you get at the Bourbon Street clubs, and about 1 1/2 times other "local" bars. NICE!

Been coming here for years and it is just a good ole dive bar. I love Ron the bartender because he does not beat around the bush. I also like the blond gal and the few other day bartenders. All which have been there along time. They all always make a nice drink and prices are on the wall. They also have the BEST Juxebox in the French Quarter..... Check it out!

Our first stop in was everything you would expect from a New Orleans bar!
Paul made me a craft cocktail that was superb! It was on a Monday and he had Red Beans & Rice which he offered complimentary due to an old tradition of New Orleans. We felt so welcome. It felt like the “ Cheers” of New Orleans.
We enjoyed it so much we came back to the next day to sadly find Paul was not working. The female bartender informed me she had been bar tending for 50 years but had 0 interest in making a craft cocktail. I did however have $5.00 on the bar for her tip but then she lost her tip. A couple from England was asking us about some local beers. We suggested one and asked the bartender to get the beers for the couple. She quickly informed us, she had a “system “ and unless they were with us, we were not to get her attention. She was rude and unpleasant. I then picked up my $5.00 tip, put it in my pocket and we left.
If I was only reviewing from out time with Paul, I would have given a 5 star. She drug it down to a 3.
This unfriendly female needs a new career not interacting with people.

Nothing fancy to see here, but great service, cold and cheap drinks. We stopped in a few times during our visit and had a great time here!

This place has fair priced drinks & cool bartenders.
They have a lot of cool patches & memorabilia from fire & police departments from all over Louisiana & surrounding areas for decoration! Very cool!

This is the perfect place to visit if you want to get in with locals, have good conversation, fun, and cheap drinks. You're lucky if you get here when Cindy is working. She is great company and great for restaurant recommendations! We've come here twice in the last two days and ended up spending an afternoon here the second day!

This is not a "happening" bar. This is not a place to see and be seen. It has cold beer and pretty good mixed drinks. It's cash only, but there's an ATM (with a high fee, I'm sure). I hate places where I can't have a conversation with my friends, or move without bumping into drunk, loud tourists, but this is not that place.
