Established in 2011 - FreeWheelin' Bike Tours is a local, family owned company - Our local roots go back to a time before New Orleans was a city and Louisiana was a state.

We were the 1st bike company to offer a tour through City Park, the Garden District, the French Quarter & a nighttime bike ride - if it's not a FreeWheelin' Bike Tour, it's not the real deal!

Being born of this extraordinary city and its surrounding bayous, we have a love for our home that is unparalleled - and we want you to experience our city the way we do every day - from the seat of a smokin' cool cruiser bike.

Be good to yourself by choosing a tour with no windows, no doors and no blisters on your feet - see the city by bike; you'll be happy you did!

If you want quality, value & authenticity, then look no further - we offer the most original & historically accurate bike tours that New Orleans has to offer.

At FreeWheelin', we aim to make your ride with us THE most enjoyable and memorable experience you'll have while in New Orleans.

Make the best decision of your vacation and take a ride with us - we've got a lot to show you!

Slow down, relax and enjoy the ride,

A very neat way to see some of the city up close. We took a tour of the Garden District. Traffic was a little dicey getting out of the French Quarter, but our guide made it all seem simple! He worked the lights so we didn't really have to stop all that much. We had a group of 6 which... More

I loved our bike tour with Andrew. He was very knowledgeable about New Orleans history and this bike tour provided the right balance of history with touring around. The bikes were very comfortable cruisers and easy to ride. Highly recommended!

The tour was a great way to see areas of New Orleans we would not have seen otherwise. We went through various parts of the city with our guide, who was very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the history of the area. Thank you!!

Our tour was wonderful, made special by our guide, who was first a careful bike rider/leader and second filled with facts, interesting comments and historical information. We heartily recommend this tour and the company. Bring a hat, sunglasses, a phone or camera; they provide a water bottle and will store your backpacks and or purses. There is a break half... More

What a remarkable way to absorb the flavor of the city of New Orleans! Our guide, Jonathan, was top notch - an absolute riding encyclopedia of NOLA history, as well as a gem at keeping folks biking the city safely. And, an entertainer, to boot! Absolutely the highlight of the trip, could not recommend more. Do yourself a favor and... More

We really enjoyed our Queen of the South bike tour with JJ. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, took our safety very seriously, and gave a fun and fact packed tour. It was the best way to see everything between the French Quarter to the Garden District. I highly recommend this tour and a big shout out to JJ!

Probably our 10th visit to NOLA, and we finally took a bike tour, and fortunately with FreeWheelin'! Gave us a perspective on the city we would have never had otherwise. Everything about this organization and its staff contributed to making it an absolutely stellar experience: welcoming people, care in putting all 8 of us on well-maintained,comfortable bikes perfectly suited to... My 3 sisters and I enjoyed the beautiful sights of New Orleans, and found it invigorating to be on a bike. We had to dodge traffic some, but our tour guide was protective and concerned about our safety. We learned about the architecture, some history of the city, were fascinated by the above ground cemeteries, heard some fun stories (Louis... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
