Finding myself alone for an evening, venturing out was a little daunting but I’d been recommended this music bar by a guy on the plane... after the seediness of Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street was a welcome relief. The bar was quiet as it was really...More

If you’re looking for a place to find some great jazz in a relaxed atmosphere this is the place. Nothing fancy, but friendly staff, good drinks, and amazing music. Had the pleasure of seeing Doro Wat perform a set here and was no disappointed. No...More

We went to New Orleans and found this little gem. It seems to be more of a local haunt located off of the busy Bourbon street. We enjoyed this area much more then the Bourbon street, more music based then booze based. Love the Cat!

This is a tiny music club with very little seating but we went two nights in a row because the bands were fantastic. Unlike a lot of the other huge bars, it felt authentic and less like a tourist trap for drunks!

This is the place to go to see great local jazz and music without all the pomp and circumstance of Bourbon street. We went in at 2:00 on a Sunday and only left three hours later because we needed to fly home.

Great little old jazz bar. One drink minimum and cash only but it was such a neat little bar with decent drinks. This is a must stop

The Spotted Cat is a very cool spot to listen to jazz. The bar is not very big but has some seating at the bar and one side of the room with the stage at the front. We saw a duo and a four piece...More

The Spotted Cat definitely has great music & was jam packed when we went. The band playing was The Foot Stompers & they were great. The crowd was mostly college aged people, but you could find all ages scattered throughout the crowd. I gave 4...More

A gem on Frenchman Street for live jazz. We paid $5 cover and there's a 1 drink per person minimum for each set. It's small and intimate, and can get busy, so don't expect to get a seat. The crowd is a bit older and...More

It was a very good cozy place. We came upon it by accident and then stayed for a couple of hours to listen to the band. This is exactly what we came NOLA for.

I think you have to be 21yrs and provide ID if you want to drink here but 18 year olds would be able to get in to listen to music. You are not asked for ID on the door.

Hi,, New Orleans has many great attractions, but most music venues in NOLA are bars and as such do not allow anyone under 21 due to strict liqour laws. Might I suggest you take your son to Snug Harbor, right across the... More
