I attended a wedding here and the experience was top notch from beginning to end. This is a lovely mansion on St. Charles Avenue and I just love the idea of being able to hear the rumbling of the streetcar during any event you have here. I think that it adds a nice New Orleans touch to the festivities. The... More

A group of us toured the first floor with a granddaughter (Faith) of Mr. Elms' It was fairly brief, but interesting and fun to see inside one these historic old New Orleans homes.

Went to the Black Hat Society Ball October 2014 and had a true magic moment. I would recommend everyone to score tickets if you can. Just WOW!

Attended a special event here. What a gorgeous old mansion! It's a National Historic Monument built in 1869 for the industrialist Watson Van Benthuysen. It's actually called The Van Benthuysen - Elms Mansion. The Elms family has owned it since 1951, and their Mardi Gras royalty souvenirs can be seen throughout the space. It's by the architect Lewis Reynolds. Self-guided... More

This was a beautiful mansion. We really enjoyed it. Staff nice and helpful. We went and did the servants tour after which was great too. The employee was very knowledgeable and friendly. Lunch at the carriage house was included in our package. Large delicious sandwich with a giant cookie, bag of chips and a drink. Not a bad deal at... More

The home and grounds are beautiful. The Elms was an excellent venue for a Rehearsal dinner/cocktail party. Guests were able to stay inside or sit outside. The food was fabulous and there were bars set up inside and out. The staff was professional and accommodating. A band performed in a small gazebo outside adding to the ambiance of the event.

We were in tour group from Canada and this mansion has been selected for the stop for eating. Great meal with great menu. We were received with a Mimosa. Then a tour of the mansion. Was really nice architecturally, woodwork, richness. One room is all mahogany. Another room was flemish oak elaborate with carved panels and cornices over the doors.... More

Pros: The Elms Mansion is absolutely gorgeous; the mansion and grounds are some of the prettiest New Orleans has to offer and because of that our wedding was equally beautiful. Our guests are still raving about the quality of the food (we didn't have much opportunity to eat at the wedding, nor were we ever offered a tasting prior). The... More

If you are looking for a gorgeous place to get married in New Orleans, you must consider Elms Mansion. My husband & I just got married there in July 2008, and it was the best night of our lives. The mansion was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the staff was extremely professional. Faith, the owner, has been in the... More
