Really interesting tour with an incredibly knowledgable guide. Happy we booked with him over anyone else. Definitely go see the graveyard tour.

When I signed up, I wasn't sure what to expect from a free tour, but it turned out to be better than other tours that charge! Dave really knows his stuff. He's obviously interested in NOLA history anyway, and is able to give the tour in an entertaining and informative way. I found myself not wanting to miss a word!... More

we spent a couple of hours with Dave walking around the french quarter and touching all the main attractions in the area. He's very knowledgeable and told us many interesting stories and details about every single stop we did, a lot of which we would have missed otherwise.

My husband and I did a walking tour with Dave on May 6. He was awesome!! He was so informative! He actually has a history degree and does this because he enjoys it and it shows. His knowledge of the history of this amazing city really made us feel as if we had been there many times when it was... More

I'm not sure why Dave should lose a star because of his 'untidy appearance'. It's all part of his character. Is he meant to change who he is? After all, it's free! On that note, I found Dave to be an extremely knowledgable and friendly guy that takes great pride in New Orleans and it's history. He answered all our... More

Dave took us on a delightful tour of the Quarter and the St. Louis cemetery. He really knew his stuff and he was just so funny and convivial. After the tour was over, me and my wife felt closer to the history of the city and to the culture of the Quarter. Combine that with an enjoyable couple of hours... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
