We (as adults) like walking tours and enjoy touring cities that way; our teens do not always agree. We did three tours during our stay - St. Louis Cemetery #3, Garden District and French Quarter. Adults and teens enjoyed both guides we had and all three tours. Highly recommend if you like walking tours. No charge for the tour, but recommended $10-$20 tip per person at the end. Great business model and one we really appreciate traveling as a family of five. We would recommend any of their tours depending on your level of interest in the topics. St. Louis Cemetery #3 was the only major cemetery open to tours post covid. St Louis Cemetery #1 is open only through the diocese-guided paid tours. Our French Quarter tour ended there and we got a little information at that point and could see in the gates. We found the tombs fascinating to look at and enjoyed wandering an uncrowded cemetery #3. Garden District was lots of stories and architecture details and much more engaging than walking on your own reading plaques.

Dave, our NOLA Tour Guy, offered a well-paced and informative history of the French Quarter and the St. Louis Cemetery. He moved us deftly and sensitively through the city's French origins, its Spanish take over, its transfer to the burgeoning US colonies, and its important creole and African communities. He made the buildings come alive with stories of the past, and infused the cemetery with life. Terrific tour! Highly recommend it!

My friend and I took the Two Saints Cemetery tour with Eric as our guide. Eric was friendly and informative, spoke clearly and loud enough for all of us to hear. He had so much really interesting knowledge to share and was able to answer any questions that were asked. A great experience! The tour lasted 45 minutes which was perfect. Eric also gave us tips on what to check out in that area which included City Park. We went and it was beautiful!
We tipped $10 each, would recommend tipping more for longer tours (and now I wonder if $10 was enough?). We agreed we would take more NOLA Tour Guy tours on future visits. This was family friendly as well.

We were in New Orleans for the weekend staying in the French Quarter and wanted to see as much of the area as possible in a small amount of time. We went online and signed up for the Nola Tour Guy. We booked the French Quarter and cemetery tour. It is a walking tour for about 2 hours, our guide, David was friendly, funny, and informative. We learned a lot about the area much more about the history of New Orleans than we would have been able to do on our own. Also if you're interested in doing a tour of the graveyards in the area you CANNOT go in on your own, you need a registered tour guide to get inside. We really enjoyed our tour and our guide and would recommend this to others.

Took the free walking tour of the French Quarter with Eric on my first day/time in NO to get an overview of what to see or do and get a feel for the French Quarter. Was not disappointed! A previous poster mentioned the tour guide being hard to find, however the email confirmation was very clear to look for the black and white ball cap that was very easy to spot. I really liked the smaller number of people having been on large group tours and it's hard to hear anything or ask questions. The history of the area given was very helpful, concise and presented in a way that was true storytelling and interesting. The suggestions really helped me to figure out how to plan the rest of my stay and I had done a ton of research before coming. I did add or delete some agenda items, so very helpful. I also appreciated his explanation of the St. Louis Cemetery #1 (being closed to public) since we paid for the $25 exclusive tour and it was probably the worst tour I have ever had (yes that is another review). Wish I would have booked the Garden District Tour with this group as well, but the times/days they were offered did not work out with my schedule.

David’s presentation was a painfully detailed account of the history of NOLA focusing on the ruling class of the 1700 and 1800s. It seemed scripted to me. Not very interactive. After almost two hours I didn’t have much more of a real “feel “ for the French Quarter than I had to start with having done my research on the internet before coming to the city.
It was stated clearly at the beginning of the free tour that it was not FREE and the expectation was $20 per person as David has bills to pay. Sorry but it wasn’t worth it.

I think your expectations are extremely high, don't you wanna know why the buildings are their? What sort of feel are you looking for here?

Grace gave a wonderful Tour of the French Quarter. She gave a brief history of New Orleans. She shared the story of Andrew Jackson and Jean Lafitte She highlighted special points of interest with suggestions for further exploration. She was articulate and animated with a voice that was easy to hear.
We highly recommend this tour.

Fascinating tour from a guide that clearly loves what he's doing. What most free walking tours offer nowadays is a person who just memorized facts about a city and walks around pretending to show what they know. This tour was so much more than that. Support local businesses, and take this tour! I'd definitely recommend it

The tour we took of The French Quarter was underwhelming mostly because our tour guide Sal was focused way to much on his own history rather than the city of New Orleans. Although Sal did have some information on the history of the city, he didn't have anything to say about modern day New Orleans, its current occupants, post Katrina life, the abundance of homeless people, current music genres, or anything at all about life in the city. Sal is a really nice person, but his focus should not be on his own history and rather on the old and new history of the city. He did say that he is relatively new at guiding and primarily a street musician, hopefully he gets better at guiding over time

Eric was very knowledgeable, friendly, and inclusive of everyone on the tour! He recommended many free and inexpensive things to do in the area after the tour. We filled up our afternoon! Highly recommended. The only unexpected thing was that in booking the tour they wanted no more than six so we thought of group of six would be it, but we had 15. Still, no problem, just unexpected. We had four teenagers with us and they said they'd totally do it again.
