Elizabeth, the guide and mastermind behind Drink & Learn, is a hoot! So much fun, and such a terrific way to engage with NOLA's extremely colorful history. She provides each guest with a little cooler satchel with 4 homemade cocktails - delicious and potent cocktails to boot! Elizabeth keeps everyone in line, though, and fun and frivolity rule the day.... More

My husband and I went on this tour last week. We had a great time. The tour guide is hilarious! She makes strong, delicious drinks...much better than we got at most bars or restaurants in New Orleans! I thought this tour sounded a little strange because it's not a bar hopping tour but I actually preferred this instead. You can... More

My sister and I did this tour on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend (check her site for days/times). It was fabulous. Very interesting stuff...the history of the city as it relates to alcohol. It really ties into also of stuff. Elizabeth story telling really is the highlight of the tour. And of course the drinks were a nice addition.... More

This was another highlight of our recent vacation to NOLA. Elizabeth is a very entertaining guide, and tour moves along well. She also does a really nice job with the cocktails, which were delicious.

What a great time. We were in Nola before our daughters' graduation from LSU. We had several other family members with us. Elizabeth was fantastic. She was very entertaining and has a surprisingly good singing voice (at the end of the tour). The drinks were tasty and easy to carry around in our individual coolers. You learn about the French... My family did the Drink and Learn tour with Elizabeth as a graduation present for my sister and I. We had a group of 10, including a 94 year old in a wheelchair and a baby that's under a year old in a stroller. Everyone including grandma and the baby had an absolute blast! Elizabeth was fun, entertaining and we... More

This experience was fantastic and a must if you love history, drinking, walking, and a bit of entertainment. Elizabeth was prompt, and she gave us a complete picture of how we were going to drink and tour at the same time before we left the venue. She gave each of us a small easy-to-carry cooler with four different drinks. Her... More

We had a great time on the Drink and Learn tour with Elizabeth. Not only did we learn quite a bit about New Orleans' history and its historical drink significance, but we had a blast being entertained by her wit and humor! We had a large group of 16 women for a bachelorette party and we would absolutely do the... More

This was my second trip to NOLA and a friend found this tour on line. We booked and this is my new MUST DO when in NOLA. Elizabeth was so knowledgable about NOLA history and is a storyteller like no other in telling the historical role of alcohol and drinking in NOLA. You meet at a Restaurant/Bar in the French... Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
