Neighborhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Perfect place when the weather nice
On Bourbon street - but family friendly. Excellent place to get a cocktail or coffee and beignet and listen to local jazz. Don't forget to tip the band. Come back in the morning for your coffee and beignet breakfast.

    A must.
We had a delicious beignet breakfast in this beautiful park. One order was enough for two people. We went back after dinner that night and we’re entertained by a great jazz group. You could sit and listen for free - they had a bucket you could contribute to. Very enjoyable.

    Lovely outside jazz music
This is an oasis in the madness or Bourbon Street. There is a small bandstand and both nights we went there was great music on. There is a bar and a restaurant too. We did not eat here, only having drinks. We really enjoyed sitting here listening to the great music. A good place for a more sedate experience!

Hidden Gem with live music and surprisingly great Sazeracs
This was our first visit to NOLA. Of course we fell in love with the music, food, and drinks. In particular, beignets and Sazeracs, which we sampled at several places around town. This Cafe Beignet location on Bourbon Street is equally as good as the others in the chain, which is to say they serve awesome beignets. But the real surprise came when we discovered the Sazerac cocktails served up by bartender "Cap." They were delicious, and a generous pour for a surprisingly cheap price. Yes, they're served in plastic cups, so not quite the ambiance of the fine local hotels, but do not be put off by that - Cap is on his game, and the drinks were great. Coupled with the great live music, the experience can't be beat. We went back several times to catch different bands. This tiny little park is a hidden oasis, and a welcome respite from the madness outside its gates.

This is a cute little patio with some drink and food vendors off the side but nothing special. In the evening there is music but now not the kind of Jazz or New Orleans feel you would expect. It will feature some more modern/rock or lounge type of music. It might be worth a stop if you are in the area but not worth making an extra stop.

It’s nice to find a respite from the seediness of Bourbon Street at this park. There are life size statues of several of the jazz greats. Always some local musicians playing jazz, which adds to the ambiance.

When I visited this location I was just looking for a quick lunch. The weather was nice so I decided to have a seat outside. It took awhile but the sandwich I ordered was not bad. Nothing fancy, but the prices are midrange. I wanted to enjoy a cocktail but the the bartender informed me that the credit card machine was not working and I could only pay with cash, which I didn't have. So I went back to the food counter to purchase a regular beverage and they also were having trouble with their register and couldn't check me out. The waitress decided that since the register issue was an inconvenience, me sweet tea was complimentary otherwise it would have been almost $5.00. The situation didn't get better as I sat down to enjoy my sandwich I noticed the large number of birds that that flew around and scavenged crumbs and other bits of food that had fallen from patron's plates. It was annoying but not overly bothersome, until one of the birds decided to swoop down and help themselves to a piece of my sandwich that was on my plate. That was my cue that it was time to leave. So unless you want to dine with a bird...instead of on some bird...this place is for you.

This is nice little spot to enjoy free live jazz throughout the day. It is adorned with several statues of musicians and is connected to Cafe Beignet. It's not something you really need to carve out time for, but it's a good spot to rest your feet.

My wife and I stopped by Musical Legends Park looking for a quick bite near our hotel. The performance space here features a revolving group of musicians who play New Orleans music at a volume that doesn’t threaten inner-ear damage (talking about you, Bourbon Street bars) and in an outdoor courtyard on Bourbon Street with reasonable room for listeners/diners. The muffulettas we had were much smaller than the classic ones at Mother’s and Central Grocery, but good enough. It won’t take long to see the statues of the musical greats who were key contributors to the musical scene here, but all in all it’s worth a visit.

We stopped here for a break in the day, and ended up spending over an hour and a half here. The music was pretty good. We caught 2 bands both entertaining. It's a lovely shaded place with tables and chairs and some good live music where u can go with teens. We did have coffee and beignets here. The line wasn't long, but it took about 40 mins to reach the counter to order. To be fair, it must have been the folks in line, because the family in front of us took a good 10 mins, where they kept asking for rice for their little kids even after both the cashier and a manager said no they couldn't accommodate because of the crowds/peak hour. Once we ordered, the coffee and beignets came quickly. The service staff were really really pleasant and kind even though they must have been exhausted from the sheer number of people.

Small park where you can sit and listen to live music. Steamboat Willie in the evenings was more Frank Sinatra and Dixieland music as opposed to jazz, but still enjoyable. We didn't find a lot of family friendly options for listening to live music - this was perfect. It adjoins with Cafe Beignet for a snack or meal while you listen. We stopped by a couple times during our stay in New Orleans.

Our visit was 20 April 2023 during the last night of a business trip. We had passed the location a couple of times during the week but wanted to sit and enjoy the music & some eats. I had the Red Beans and Rice and brought Beignets to go, my co-worker had beignets and we both had ice coffee from the Café Kitchen but both brought a drink from bar in same location. A frozen drink and small glass of red wine were our drinks. We were there to catch the end of one trio and the beginning of another trio (Steamboat Willie) on the Café Beignet stage. The atmosphere was great and we enjoyed our food. The staff we got our food and drinks from was very professional and pleasant. There was a gentleman cleaning off tables and picking up items that blew on the ground keeping things clean and tidy. The cute little birds are comfortable around people. If back in this area again, I would defiantly stop back.

We had an amazing time here! We had originally gone to cafe du monde but after being ignored for over 20 minutes, we left without even having our order taken and continued to wander, craving beignets at this point. We happened along this place and managed to snag a table in the shade as it was very hot. A band was playing right next to us but not at deafening levels. The music was fabulous, the coffee and beignets arrived very quickly and were very hot and tasty. Gorgeous. I finished my snack with a frozen daiquiri which was just as lovely. We spent around an hour in this beautiful cafe and would definitely seek it out again. Highly recommenced
