New Orleans is a fascinating city and there is a lot to see. We were pleased to find seats on this tour at the last minute. Sadly our tour started over 45 minutes late because the driver was forced to drive all over the city to pick up passengers who were scattered all over. He got to us half an... More

We arranged pick up from one of the hotels in the french quarter. The Guide contacted me about an hour before pick up just confirming our meeting spot and the time of pick up. Greg was our excellent driver and guide and made the day funny and enjoyable, we could not have asked for a better experience. We were able... More

We took this tour the first day we were in New Orleans and it was a perfect way to start the trip. They picked us up at our hotel promptly at the appointed time and the tour guide was fantastic. Maybe not all his facts were true, but they were certainly entertaining! The tour covered a wide berth of the... More

Toured French Quarter, saw a little of Mardi Gras World, historic neighborhood of Treme with St. Augustine Church and the tomb of the unknown slave, Ninth Ward, City Park with a stop for beignets and coffee, historic cemetery, Garden District, and back to French Quarter. Very informative and personal along with entertaining. Comfortable... More

We'd never been to New Orleans before and as we often do in a new city we sought out a short, but comprehensive tour to do first. We do a lot of research before arriving in a new place so always have a list of must-do's and want-to-do's-if-we-have-time. A two-hour tour helps to finalize our decisions. Sometimes you get what... Bus picked us up at our hotel, very convenient! The tour was informative and our tour guide was very funny. There are 2 stops where you get off the bus to explore, a cafe at the park and the Metarie cemetery. Had a good time.

I purchased this tour through Groupons. Great price! The bus picked us up in front of our hotel. Very curtious driver and had personality to boot. We toured the French Quarter, Ninth Ward, edge of Lake Pounchtrain, the spillways/ pump stations that gave way, Garden District and a very old cemetery. He gave us the history of New Orleans, a... This was our first visit to New Orleans and we wanted a overview of the city and booked a ride on the New Orleans Southern Style Tours. We were on board with Greg as our driver and we had the best time with him. As we drove around Greg pointed out various points that maybe he only knows being a... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
