The area
Address
Neighborhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Needed a place to get a Brazilian wax quickly while in town. Loved the look of the salon. The staff was very accommodating, clean, professional and efficient. Will make a special trip to this spa next time I am in town.

Excellent spa day
May 2021 • Friends
My sister and I decided to treat ourselves to a spa day. We had a massage and then a mani/pedi. Kirsten for my massage was so amazing and knowledgable. She was telling me all sort of stuff going on with my back that I needed to know. Rhonda for my mani/pedi was so so sweet and skilled. Monica was doing my sisters nails and between Monica and my sister and Rhonda and me, we were having a good ol’ time cutting up — just what a spa day needs. I’m definitely coming back.

Nice treat in French Quarter
Feb 2021
We booked a pair of massages at last minute on a weekday afternoon, and enjoyed our visit. The spa is in a rather obscure alley (which I guess applies to most of the French Quarter) and inauspicious-looking, and our massage therapists were rather young and inexperienced looking. But the one I had was actually better than I'd expected. As a special treat, we were across the street from Irene's, a gorgeous Italian restaurant which was the highlight of our entire trip, so I'd wholly recommend a combination of a massage at Spa Atlantis followed by dinner at Irene's to mark a special occasion or very special date!

Great, Good and Not Good

The great- Chelsea gave me the best facial I’ve ever had and i wish i could rate her alone and give her 5 stars!! She was a fun conversationalist and she was incredibly knowledgable about her profession. She even confirmed something I have been dealing with and encouraged me to make a dermatologist appointment. I actually made the appointment today. She worked wonders and left me glowy, hydrated and soft. Chelsea was also very particular with protection and Covid safety. Go see Chelsea for anything esthetic!

The good - The locker room was nice and equipped with bathrooms and a shower. The lockers were stocked with robes and spa slippers. It is anywhere from 90-100 plus degrees in New Orleans in August. My only suggestion would be maybe have lightweight robes for the incredibly hot months. The robes were long, heavy robes that are perfect for vacation at a ski lodge in January.

The not good - My massage (and my friend’s) was lacking to say the least. We paid for 80 minutes but did not get 80 minutes. Our massages were basically someone lightly rubbing on us. I told my massage therapist before we started that I was having lower back issues and needed her to help work some of that out.
Needless to say, she didn’t do anything for me but she did relax me. I ended up going to a tried and true reflexology spa that offers full body massage the next day and they fixed me in 30 minutes.

I will absolutely go back for a facial with Chelsea and I 100% recommend her to anyone.

I do not recommend therapeutic massages. If you want to be relaxed and maybe put to sleep, they ate great. If you have any therapeutic issues, go elsewhere. I feel like the price of the massage definitely did NOT reflect the quality. It was like my 9 year old niece was rubbing my back.

Facials are perfect. Massages are not.

I was in town for a quick getaway with my husband. The location of this spa is good and the services were even better. I especially enjoyed Nikki and Ms. Doris. Nikki did my wax and I have no complaints. She had great conversation to help me relax. Ms. Doris did an outstanding job on my mani/pedi. I’ll be back whenever I visit NOLA again.

A relaxing experience!

I received a gift card for the spa for my birthday just be for Covid set in and shut down the city. The spa was pristine and the employees were all wearing masks, they took my temperature and had a brief questionnaire which focused on my massage needs/preferences as wall as on my exposure to Covid. They seemed to be taking all the necessary measures to make my massage with Brad as safe as it was relaxing. Brad had a great a great touch with the right amount of pressure. I will definitely be back in the future!

The owner of both of the spa and hair salon matched me perfectly with an aesthetician that knew exactly what I wanted. I was hesitant at first as this was my first time getting my eyebrows down but the result was better than I could have asked for. Additionally, the place was VERY clean and neat which was just what I wanted. To top it off I was greeted with a nice refreshing glass of champagne when I arrived at the spa. Overall an amazing experience and would never go anywhere else when in New Orleans.

Great day spa!
Feb 2019 • Couples
Thank you to Ashley and Tiana for excellent and very relaxing massages. Lovely ambiance, nice ocean sounds and background music, massage bed and room were the perfect temp, lavender pillow over your eyes, wine while you wait in the relaxing room, super soft and comfy robes and slippers, great pedicures, quiet atmosphere, shower facilities with essential toiletries. Pretty much every amenity you might want from a day spa. My husband and I had a similar spa experience in Orlando and Atlantis was less expensive, so I’d say they are a great value for the money as well. We’ll be back when we return to NOLA. Thanks again.

I recommend Jewel to take care of your hair styling needs while you’re in NOLA for a perfect look. This salon was in the French Quarter on Bienville St. She knew exactly what I wanted and made me feel very comfortable and welcome. Too bad I could not have had more time to try out the spa.

Pamper and Chill
Oct 2019 • Solo
Have you ever had a spa treatment so relaxing that you went home and curl up with a glass of your favorite drink, put on some music or meditate?

This is what Spa Atlantis Downtown did to me.

I booked a facial and a body scrub for my birthday. It was a day of pampering in nola. I had an Atlantis facial and my skin looked brighter, refreshed.

The Head to Glow body treatment was awesome. My muscles were worked on and my skin felt so soft afterwards.

When I got back to my hotel, I ordered room service and Chill.

I was a bit self conscious about being a person of size and going to the spa but the ladies were professional, polite and did a great job.

I highly recommend if you visit NOLA.

Awww thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback. It really does mean so much to us. If you wouldn’t mind either calling me, e-mailing or texting the name of the therapists who worked with you. If you don’t remember I can look it up from your name. I love to share great reviews with them. It keeps us all motivated. Thank you again for taking the time. Richard Borne Owner Spa Atlantis (504) 258-4335 mobile Richard@spaatlantis.net
