My sister and I like visiting historic cemeteries. Not for the dead, but for the dates and architecture of that time. In New Orleans, all of the tombs are raised above ground because the city is below sea level. It really is a sight to...More

We came to see the grieving angel, which we did, but had not expected the sheer scale and number of marble mausoleums.

Being from the North, cemeteries are different here. This cemetery is of the traditional Louisiana variety. Very picturesque, expensive and newer. It even has a Millionaire Circle. If you take a bus tour, this is the cemetery you will visit. The tombs are astonishingly ornate....More

Statuary in this cemetery is awesome. Many historic statues. It's a big walk. You should start at the funeral home/main office. They will give you a map and show you where the most popular graves are. We rode the street car stray down Canal street...More

I was taken here on a city tour and was in awe of the above ground tombs. These are the tombs of the wealthy families in New Orleans. Stained glass, marble, statues, etc. Interesting to see the old versus the new. Both are beautiful in...More

Very swank cemetery which included folks like Copeland the owner of Popeye's Chicken. The cemetery was well kept with the most usual burials and grave site to view.

Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake
Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for
family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans
Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel
Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush
Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and
the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix
