Address
Neighborhood: Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Bring your walking shoes.
This building is huge
Not enough places to eat in the building but the riverside shops next door more than make up for it

This Conventions Center is absolutely huge... To go until the final of the building, we need to walk around 500m...and it's not a joke !!!

The NRECA convention was held here. This place is huge. The only problem was they were replacing the front entrance to the center. There were over 8000 of us attending but it was easy to get around.

Great staff, clean facilities but the front street construction really takes away from the experience right now with limiting where you can enter. More water bottle filling stations would be nice too but great options for any convention space needs!

This Fan Experience was awesome!! Activities for all ages, wish our grandkids would have been with us. Very interactive with both teams being well represented. Would highly recommend for the next National Championship (Miami?)

I attend a lot of conventions and the Morial Center is a good place to attend. The biggest plus is the location. You can walk to most of the places you would like to see after hours. Lots of restaurants and hotels near by. The facility itself is fairly updated and of large enough size to hold a good convention. It is long and skinny in shape but don't let appearances deceive, it is large.

Enjoyed a 4 day conference in this convention center. About 15 minute walk from the French Quarter. Next to the cruise ship dock and shopping mall. Very spacious and nice convention center. All my sessions and exhibit floor experiences went well. Staff are very friendly. Starbucks staff in the food court were a big disappointment. Two days in a row the food court did not seem to open for lunch. Good news is that there are plenty of nice places to eat a few blocks away.

First the streets were torn up but there was a dedicated traffic person to keep traffic flowing. The venue itself was ok, the escalators were roped off so you had to walk twice as far to get to your conference session.

Nice, modern facility. Horrible food service staff. From the starbucks to the food court area the staff didn't give a f*#$ about helping people, speed, quality etc.
first day of convention no bread at sandwich shop, staff laughed when we tried to order food. Starbucks staff joking around taking 10+ mins to make coffee etc Unacceptable when holding world class conventions and people are on tight time limits.

Conference center was HUGE!, Very nice, meeting rooms were comfortable. Road construction made getting to it a challenge but it has a great location.

The conference I am attending says they are offering free wifi within the conference for attendees with a specific SSID for the conference. Has anyone had experience with this in the past? How was the quality of the connection. How is the cell phone coverage inside the convention center - Specifically Verizon if known. Thank you.

I'm looking for recommendations for food either just inside or near the convention centre. Quick bites and snacks only please? Thank you

There is a starbucks inside the Marriott Hotel across the street. At Julia St., there is a hole in the wall store that has snack and soda. Across from that is Mulate's. There are a few other places, within walking distance... but the Con. Center spans and easy 5 block area.

In the hallways it was always around room temperature, but depending on the size/length of your convention that will dictate the temperate inside your venue. Time of year also plays a factor.
How much does the convention center charge for parking?

The convention center does not have it's own parking lot. You have to use commercial lots in the neighborhood and they are not cheap. You should use public transport or a shuttle from your hotel.

There are numerous hotels within easy walking distance of the convention center, even right across the street. Start with TripAdvisor and check the little inset map for the hotel that strikes your interest to get an exact location relative to the conv. ctr. I stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites on O'keefe because the price was right, the reviews were good, it had breakfast included and it was a about a mile from the conv. ctr. Using my feet and a couple of streetcars, getting to and from was no big deal
